Any of you sleep on wet sheets?

Because my DH thought it would be "fine" to remove a wet sheet from the dryer that had been on for ten minutes and put it on our bed instead of grabbing a dry one from the cupboard. Because apparently, the duvet would have dried it. And our body heatConfused

He seems really annoyed and like I'm stupid not to understand the physics behind body heat and a duvet wicking away moisture, but he's overlooking the fact that this is bollocks and nobody wants to sleep on wet sheets!! I said there was no way that was going on our bed and he sighed the sigh of a long misunderstood man and traipsed downstairs actually dragging the sheet behind him, head down, to return it to the dryer.

AIBU?? Would you like to sleep on a wet sheet instead of a dry one?

🤣🤣🤣🤣

@thnack

He took the wet sheet back to the dryer and came back with a dry one, helped me put it on the bed with many a dramatic sigh and now he's sulking because I "made him feel stupid." Because I said it was ridiculous to sleep on wet sheets when we have dry ones and it would be horribly uncomfortable. I only think this though because I don't understand the science behind it. Apparently, we'd actually be far warmer. Just damp.

It sounds fucking dire and I prefer dry and warm.

I really don't think he can put it on you that he feels stupid, he is stupid, that's not your fault!
Bushkin · 18/12/2021 22:30

What a numpty, you only made him feel stupid because it was a bloody stupid thing to do

lliitttlepiinkhouse · 18/12/2021 22:31

I don't know why anybody would ever choose to sleep on a damp bed when they don't have to. What an idiot.

OneTC · 18/12/2021 22:31

He's an idiot

Also down (if your duvet is down) doesn't work when it's wet, so even his faulty logic is faulty

Steakpies · 18/12/2021 22:31

Does his car have fabric seats? Maybe he needs a physical demonstration so he can see you haven't 'made him feel stupid' but he is infact stupid 🙄

Steakpies · 18/12/2021 22:32

At least everyone is in agreement, so the inventor of the tumble dryer can rest easy in their (dry) bed knowing it was a waste of their time.

RavingAnnie · 18/12/2021 22:33

My husband just tried to tell me that there is no point going any tidying because the house needs decorating. He cannot see why this makes absolutely no sense at all (unless you are happy to life with shit everywhere).

Megan2018 · 18/12/2021 22:33

I slept on damp sheets once in a ridiculous heat wave, it was bliss.
But no fecking way I’d do it in winter. Just no.

Arethechildreninbedyet · 18/12/2021 22:34

As in wet wet or damp?!

If the latter it’s not damp - it’s cold.

itwasntaparty · 18/12/2021 22:35

Why on earth would you sleep on a wet sheet? Ffs. 🤦🏻‍♀️

curtains15 · 18/12/2021 22:35

This has really made me laugh out loud! This is something my oh would try and get away with.

violetbunny · 18/12/2021 22:35

He has no common sense at all.

Eh?

Damp means

Slightly wet.

DropYourSword · 18/12/2021 22:37

now he's sulking because I "made him feel stupid."

But... that’s only because he is stupid.

What a complete berk

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 18/12/2021 22:42

Its this kind of idiocy that makes me not respect a person.

xprincessxjanetx · 18/12/2021 22:44

No, YANBU, I'd be concerned the mattress would eventually become mouldy if that was done habitually.

Pbbananabagel · 18/12/2021 22:46

He’s seen a YouTube video about this hasn’t he, only he hasn’t taken in the fact it was made somewhere like Florida.

Suzanne999 · 18/12/2021 22:48

Who the hell sleeps on a wet sheet?
Even when I lived in Middle East in height of summer I’d never do that.
What a weird thing to do.

Dacquoise · 18/12/2021 22:49

So he did the toddler walk of shame to change the wet sheet for a dry one and is now punishing you with the sulks. He must be fighting them off being the sex symbol he obviously is.

Timeisavirtue · 18/12/2021 22:50

Omg the logic 😅 sometimes I question how people actually get very far in life 😂

Suzi888 · 18/12/2021 22:52

He’s an idiot. My mil did this once, we both woke up half way through night (we had been drinking) freezing, shivering with cold- the sheet was dry though so yay 😫

Plus… arthritis etc

Nope he made himself look stupid.
