Any of you sleep on wet sheets?

Because my DH thought it would be "fine" to remove a wet sheet from the dryer that had been on for ten minutes and put it on our bed instead of grabbing a dry one from the cupboard. Because apparently, the duvet would have dried it. And our body heatConfused

He seems really annoyed and like I'm stupid not to understand the physics behind body heat and a duvet wicking away moisture, but he's overlooking the fact that this is bollocks and nobody wants to sleep on wet sheets!! I said there was no way that was going on our bed and he sighed the sigh of a long misunderstood man and traipsed downstairs actually dragging the sheet behind him, head down, to return it to the dryer.

AIBU?? Would you like to sleep on a wet sheet instead of a dry one?

@Arethechildreninbedyet

As in wet wet or damp?!

If the latter it’s not damp - it’s cold.

Being almost 40 years old and having 30 years of laundry experience, I can confirm that I know the difference between wet, damp and cold. I can also confirm that when something is pulled from the tumble dryer mid cycle, it is warm.

But it was wet. Wet enough to leave a shiny wet trail across the wooden flooring when he dragged it away

@Pbbananabagel

He’s seen a YouTube video about this hasn’t he, only he hasn’t taken in the fact it was made somewhere like Florida.
Yes, he has!! That's what he told me when he revisited the situation as soon as we woke up this morning. I asked him if the video was filmed near the equator and not in England in December and he looked as if some sort of realisation had hit him. I put the icing on the cake by telling him I was going to make us some coffee with cold tap water because our bodies would heat it up. Luckily he doesn't stay butthurt for long and found that quite funny

I would actually ask him to explain the science in detail.

That is annoying in itself. Clean wet laundry on the floor 😱

@Retrorose

Ha, are we married to the same man? Absolutely the kind of stupid thing my DH would do and then have a strop about me pointing out the idiocy behind his actions. Also why can’t they take things out of cupboards? DH was drying up with one of the kids cardigans despite a there being a stack of tea towels in the linen cupboard. Why?!!!!
This made me laugh because my DH once took a roast chicken out of the oven with a pair of sports socks rather than the oven gloves because the sports socks were closer

Oh @thnack thank you for this thread!!

I think your DH has been given rather a hard time.... I am sure he can be difficult to live with, but I have to admit, from a distance, I find myself thinking him rather adorable!

Sports socks as oven mits.... wonderful!

CecilyP · 19/12/2021 08:11

Yes, not only has he done a stupid thing but instead of saying sorry, I wasn’t paying attention, goes to mansplain physics to you (except it’s not physics; it’s just plain wrong). Does he always have tone right about everything or is this a once off? I would find it really annoying!

He is actually quite adorable, but I'm still not sleeping on wet sheets for him

I hope he's not allowed to use the hob.
😂😂😂😂

Don't think I'd be sharing a bed with this guy for many different reasons.

Wet sheets are awesome when you’re somewhere in SE Asia and it’s over 30deg all day and into the night.

In the U.K. in winter. No way.
