Any of you sleep on wet sheets?

Because my DH thought it would be "fine" to remove a wet sheet from the dryer that had been on for ten minutes and put it on our bed instead of grabbing a dry one from the cupboard. Because apparently, the duvet would have dried it. And our body heatConfused

He seems really annoyed and like I'm stupid not to understand the physics behind body heat and a duvet wicking away moisture, but he's overlooking the fact that this is bollocks and nobody wants to sleep on wet sheets!! I said there was no way that was going on our bed and he sighed the sigh of a long misunderstood man and traipsed downstairs actually dragging the sheet behind him, head down, to return it to the dryer.

AIBU?? Would you like to sleep on a wet sheet instead of a dry one?

I hope he's not allowed to use the hob.

BendicksBittermints4Breakfast · 18/12/2021 22:56

In Summer I will often put a sheet back on that's very very nearly dry but I wouldn't do what he suggests!

PraiseTheSunshine · 18/12/2021 22:59

That sounds absolutely awful

SeaToSki · 18/12/2021 23:00

Its actions like this that make me appreciate the richness of the English (english) language. Look how many great adjectives there are to describe him

Berk
Plonker
Twit
Prat

And thats just going on the first few posts on this thread

American English isnt anywhere nearly as rich in describing complete stupidity with an undertone of lack of common sense. (I live in the US and really miss this part of the UK)

AntiHop · 18/12/2021 23:00

It's a good way to make the mattress mouldy.

BendicksBittermints4Breakfast · 18/12/2021 23:00

@Sarahlou63

Only in the summer when it's 30c...
Even then, only very slighty damp. It's actually a good way of ironing sheets, I put one on a bit damp, pull out most of the creases and run the iron over it to get a lovely smooth finish.
Joystir59 · 18/12/2021 23:00

Your post made me laugh OP. He's a silly twit.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/12/2021 23:06

I only think this though because I don't understand the science behind it. Apparently, we'd actually be far warmer. Just damp.

How the hell does he think you'd have been warmer? It would have (partially) dried by using your body heat to evaporate the water. Evaporation without a heat source would have cooled it.
I don't think he understands the science.

angelikacpickles · 18/12/2021 23:15

The science certainly doesn't say what he think it says!

I’d look like a Shar Pei dog after lying down for just 2 minutes. Yanbu

Carpetsareforflying · 18/12/2021 23:20

I'm sorry but I haven't laughed so much in ages 🤣

Twilight7777 · 18/12/2021 23:27

😳 wet sheet on the bed? Hell no!

TyrannosaurusRegina · 18/12/2021 23:29

Was it easier to get the sheet out the drier than the cupboard ie drier was closer, easier to yank the sheet out the drier than rake about in the cupboard for a sheet etc? Probably just being a lazy shite.

Geppili · 18/12/2021 23:31

Lazy idiot! Dragging the sheet behind him is hilarious. His emotional age can't be higher than four! Grin

SimpsonsXmasBoogie · 18/12/2021 23:32

Wtf?

I live in an extremely hot country. When I peg my washing out in full sun it's dry within 15 mins.

I still would never, ever put a wet sheet on my bed. Not even a slightly damp one. Because it's a stupid thing to do and will result in a stinky, damp bed. Who the hell wants to sleep on a wet sheet?!

Retrorose · 18/12/2021 23:36

Ha, are we married to the same man? Absolutely the kind of stupid thing my DH would do and then have a strop about me pointing out the idiocy behind his actions. Also why can’t they take things out of cupboards? DH was drying up with one of the kids cardigans despite a there being a stack of tea towels in the linen cupboard. Why?!!!!

peachesarenom · 18/12/2021 23:38

I sent this to DH as your image of 'the sigh of a long misunderstood man' reminded me so much of my husband when he wants to do something totally unreasonable.

He says he feels you DH's pain!

Give me strength!

Lalliella · 18/12/2021 23:41

I really thought this thread was going to be about something else 😂

Booklover3 · 18/12/2021 23:42

Ffs no of course not!

TheUsualChaos · 18/12/2021 23:47

The kind of logic only applied by a man who wanted to try and take a shortcut. Although not sure how taking sheet from the drier was any easier than one from cupboard Confused. But clearly just thought easier to grab from drier and then when realised it was still damp he'd rather sleep on it wet than do the job properly.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/12/2021 23:52

Although not sure how taking sheet from the drier was any easier than one from cupboard
Using a dry sheet straight from the dryer might make sense - possibly still warm, and wouldn't need to waste time folding it.

DoubleTweenQueen · 18/12/2021 23:54

@thnack I think he just did a silly thing and was trying to blag his way out of it, bless!
