Do you wash the toilet with the same cloth as the rest of the bathroom ?

I was always taught to have a special sponge / cloth which only gets used to wash / wipe the toilet.

The sink and shower etc are wiped down with a different cloth.

MIL uses the same cloth for the entire bathroom.

I find that strange. How do you do it ?

No matter what product you're using / how thorough you are, there's going to be unsavoury particles on the cloth used for the toilet! I then soak them in a disinfectant and boiling water between cleans, and keep separate from other cleaning cloths!

Then again I'm in the "you must close the lid when you flush the toilet" camp 🏕 😂

I use a cloth for the bathroom, I use a silicone toilet brush for the toilet and spray and toilet paper for the external bits which then gets flushed. To be honest as long as the toilet is done last then the cloth is washed on a hot wash/with bleach I don't see it as an issue

Same cloth for everything - I use so much bleach and cleaning fluid I'd defy any poo/ wee/ bum germ to survive.

Then cloth goes in a hot wash and stored until next cleaning.

I use a different cloth for each part of the bathroom and then bung them in the wash. If I only had one cloth, I'd just do the toilet last and then wash it.

Yes, but toilet is the last thing to be done. Cloth then gets washed with the Nappy stuff on a hot wash.

Disposable wet wipes or toilet paper that's then flushed. The latter is better for the environment. I bin the wet wipes if used.

I use the brush for the bowl, then cleaning wipes for the seat/outside of the toilet. Then a different cloth all together for the rest of the bathroom.

Different cloths. Every day, good clean. Not sure if my lot are just particularly mucky but it needs it!

I use loo roll to clean the loo (obv with cleaning product) and it then gets flushed away. When my cleaner does the loo, she uses a separate cloth, and obv they all get washed afterwards.

I use paper towels for the toilet - bad for the environment I know but I am a germ phobic

Came on to say this. Spray then wipe with loo roll. Cloths only for the bathroom Use my flash mop for the tiles

Yes but do toilet last. Into special wash bag. Wash at 90 with bleach.

Another cleaning loo last then putting cloth in for a hot wash.

As many other posters. I also use the same cloth but do the toilet last. But ultimately even if you didn’t, I don’t really see the harm. It’s not like you’re preparing food in the bath! And most people would be using bleach type cleaning products. Well I do anyway.

Spray, wipe down with loo roll, flush away.
