Neighbour using my accounts to shop

csam · 10/12/2021 21:23

So my neighbour (and friend) is currently isolating with their family due to Covid.
Their laptop was at work so I offered them the use of my old one.

I forgot that my passwords auto filled and for the last few days my friend has been happily using my Amazon / M&S accounts to complete multiple on line orders.

They have added own payment card and their address.

Whilst not bothered by the home shopping delivery (I said this was fine to do), it now appears all Xmas shopping is being completed via my accounts Hmm

AIBU to be a bit miffed at this?

Just reset your passwords and if she asks, tell her you got email warnings or something

Unless you get loyalty points Grin

DroopyClematis · 10/12/2021 21:26

I'd be furious.
You need to say something asap.

CoffeeRunner · 10/12/2021 21:26

If they are using their own payment card & their own address are you sure they even realise it is logged in to your account?

I thought you were going to say they were shopping on your credit account.

I'm not sure I could get too worked up about this.

Yummypumpkin · 10/12/2021 21:27

Thats almost funny!

Are you sure your neighbour realises though??

My hope would be they did it accidentally...I mean otherwise you can see all their purchases?

You need to get the laptop back and switch off the passwords for sure.

gamerchick · 10/12/2021 21:27

It would in that I'd have to be extra careful when ordering myself.

Change your passwords or tell them thankyou for adding their card to your account. Youll have fun with that Wink

Sparklfairy · 10/12/2021 21:28

I was reading this thinking why, why would she do this? Is it because she can't remember any of her own passwords? Id be hard pushed to even confidently remember my email password tbh for all the recovery emails to go to...

Still, why didn't she just ask you? She can snoop through all your previous orders and everything!

thetombliboo · 10/12/2021 21:28

I wouldn't like this, what I order on Amazon etc is private. I wouldn't want someone having that kind of access.

ForbiddentoForbid · 10/12/2021 21:28

Change your passwords!

BHX3000 · 10/12/2021 21:29

That’s really not on. They didn’t even ask?

Amazon and M&S have apps and mobile phone website versions. Why couldn’t they use those? Or do they not have a phone either?

KatyRebecca84 · 10/12/2021 21:30

Surely they don’t realise?!

nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut · 10/12/2021 21:33

I'd do my own shopping on their payment card. That'd soon put a stop to it.

Ubiquery · 10/12/2021 21:33

You leant someone your laptop?? That’d feel like lending someone my diary, cash card, tv and social media all rolled in to one.

Cryalot2 · 10/12/2021 21:33

I would hate this .
I would not want anyone seeing my shopping. Not that I have anything to hide.

Change your passwords

PAFMO · 10/12/2021 21:34

What did she say when you asked her why she'd done it?

A mixed bag of replies.

I haven't said anything yet as it's only been today that there's been a flurry of orders made. Guessing the cabin fever is getting to them!

I'm going to change passwords and advise they use / create their own accounts if they want to continue using. Not sure they have Amazon so I suspect making the most of my free prime delivery!

Lshajisk · 10/12/2021 21:38

Just change your passwords. Pointless thing for her to do though so seems a bit strange.

csam · 10/12/2021 21:42

@Wallywobbles

I'd wipe my lap top before I lent it to my kids. Why the fuck is your sense of security so poor?
Wow...you don't mince your words. This person isn't a stranger to me. They can't spend my actual money... is just using my accounts to order for themselves Confused

Did they use your Lovehoney account? ☺️

switswooo · 10/12/2021 21:49

So you don’t have any debit / credit cards saved on your Amazon account?

CtrlU · 10/12/2021 21:51

Your way more relaxed about it than I would be. That’s all I know

Fomofo · 10/12/2021 21:51

I wouldn't let anyone use my accounts

TractorAndHeadphones · 10/12/2021 22:00

just change your passwords and pretend you didn't notice

TractorAndHeadphones · 10/12/2021 22:01

Also YANBU
I wouldn't be impressed at such CFery

Thelnebriati · 10/12/2021 22:01

Stop and think about this; they have ordered using your account but their credit card, where are the items being delivered to?

Don't accept the deliveries at your address.
