Neighbour using my accounts to shop

So my neighbour (and friend) is currently isolating with their family due to Covid.
Their laptop was at work so I offered them the use of my old one.

I forgot that my passwords auto filled and for the last few days my friend has been happily using my Amazon / M&S accounts to complete multiple on line orders.

They have added own payment card and their address.

Whilst not bothered by the home shopping delivery (I said this was fine to do), it now appears all Xmas shopping is being completed via my accounts Hmm

AIBU to be a bit miffed at this?

If they put through a huge order for something on your cards, you have no recourse trying to get it back via the banks.

Why on earth would you lend anyone your laptop? I don't even like DH using mine Grin

The OP should have created another account for the neighbour to use. That would have solved everything.

@Wallywobbles

In our security training at the bank we were told to remove our cvc from our cards. As no one but you ever needs to use it.
Excellent tip👍

Be very careful with Amazon. Me and my partner (who doesn't live with me) used to take it in turns to get the free trial of Prime for Christmas shopping so my bank card was saved on his account. He then somehow managed to sign up the Amazon prime US and was getting charged but didn't realize. He stopped using Amazon and both our cards saved on his UK account expired. About a year later I noticed there as been regular payments going out of my bank account to Amazon for slightly different amounts each month . It took a lot of detective work to find out what had happened- when my partner's bank card expired that he used when accidentally creating his Amazon US prime account (that he was unaware he had) they must have linked it to his Amazon UK account. This also only had his old bank card and my old bank card saved (and my address). They then used this info to get to my Amazon account that had by new bank details saved and started charging me for his US prime account, all without telling either of us. It took a lot of working out and me having to contact Amazon US to get it sorted and for me to get my money back but I couldn't believe what they did, I would never put my card details on another person's account now or let anyone put theirs on mine now.

Very interesting about Amazon.

I have a prime account but bought an item on the german site and paid for delivery.

6 months on I discover they have been deducting a prime membership for the german site.

I was not impressed. They instantly repaid the 6 months, but I wasn't impressed that they took money from my account without having any authorisation to do so.

You say they can't spend your money but actually they can if your cards are saved. Yes I suspect they want the benefit of free delivery on your prime. I would definitely charge the passwords though. And get the laptop back!
