Justcannotbearsed · 10/12/2021 13:42

Just bought a train picnic for a 2 hour train journey. Not crowded train. Whats the etiquette or do I just need to starve.

Yabu.... starve
Yanbu .... fill your boots.

Fill yer boots.

lap90 · 10/12/2021 13:47

It's fine to remove your mask to eat and drink.

ImInStealthMode · 10/12/2021 13:47

Fill your boots.

TheSpiral · 10/12/2021 13:48

I think it is fine, some trains have food and drink trolleys anyway.

Justcannotbearsed · 10/12/2021 13:49

Great. How about drinking wine straight out of mini bottle?

That's the only way to drink a mini bottle.

What’s a train picnic?
LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/12/2021 13:54

It's fine, the trains are still running their onboard shops and trolleys.

Justcannotbearsed · 10/12/2021 13:57

Sausage rolls, salad, crisps, small bottle of wine, baguette, cheese…

In retrospect a sandwich would have been easier. Though someone else has just got on with a rotisserie chicken…

Nevertime · 10/12/2021 14:01

2 hours? What are you doing with a mini bottle? Grin

A580Hojas · 10/12/2021 14:02

I wouldn't be eating in a filthy public environment where I couldn't wash my hands in a clean bathroom immediately beforehand. It's only 2 hours!

It’s lunchtime, I’m hungry.

That's some fucked up sub Enid Blyton shit right there. Train picnic my arse.

Disfordarkchocolate · 10/12/2021 14:10

It's all OK apart from drinking from the mini bottle. However, needs must. I love a picnic on the train.

CanofCant · 10/12/2021 14:11

M&S sell wine in plastic 'glasses' for occasions such as this.

MelonTits · 10/12/2021 14:12

You have always been allowed to remove a mask to eat and drink on trains.

So you can just avoid wearing a mask by eating and drinking then? Is this just trains or buses as well?

There's no ginger beer.

I have been known to drink a mini bottle of wine on a train through a drinking straw Grin
