To despise being called ‘cis’?

Ostryga · 07/11/2021 19:50

I’m not ‘cis’. I’m not ‘cisgendered’. I’m literally a woman. I’ve just read a guardian article that calls women seeking IVF cisgendered.

Why????

Could not give a fuck about your schoolyard trauma. You were bullied. That sucks. Bullying other people won’t make you feel better, it’ll just make them feel worse.
But you are continuing the bulllying. People like yourself insisting that a woman is a certain feeling, or presentation IS bullying.

If I had been growing up today, I would have been called trans or at the very least non binary.

Me refusing the term for myself and refusing to go along with the gender religion is NOT bullying.

Helloise · 08/11/2021 19:52

@Doubletoilandtrouble

I don’t think men object to cis but of course they have less to loose.

Also, cancer charities calls women “cervix havers” and men “men”. Someone asked if it shouldn’t be “prostate havers” it the charity rejected that. Only women are asked to be inclusive.

can you point out a charity website that calls people “cervix havers” or similar? Because I work on lots of medical support and charity websites and I haven’t seen this.

@HoardingSamphireSaurus

Don’t call me it. God you lot are nasty. I see why you’re usually kept to the back pages

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 08/11/2021 19:55

Can I help you get your not so bright light fixed @thatonehasalittlecar?

It can't be nice looking for some sense in the dark. Paraphrasing or not!

Or were you talking about another poster when you asked about brightness?

Naughty naughty. We don't do that here

@SpudleyLass

You have no idea about my beliefs. I don’t care how you look, how pretty you are, whether you have a face like Venus or the back end of a bus. So don’t put words in my mouth and stop trying to shut down any differing views on the pretext some bitches were mean to you 20 years ago.

They're nasty? You literally just dismissed the reasons why i feel the way i do about the term ''cis'' as ''schoolyard trauma''.

Waitwhat23 · 08/11/2021 19:56

@helloise a very current example is NHS Scotland - www.nhsinform.scot/healthy-living/screening/cervical/cervical-screening-smear-test. TV and radio ads currently running to encourage 'those with a cervix' to attend cervical screening.

‘Shrieking’ ‘baying mob’ isn’t going to go down well.

Most women want to say no to ‘cis’ without getting this typical stuff in return.

All i can say is.....wow.

@thatonehasalittlecar Why are you so nasty and so aggressive and so full of hatred?

And your BFF accused me of tone policing.

I think I was talking to foxgoose but it’s so hard to tell you all apart. I just see an angry red hole whenever I read your posts.

Walkaround · 08/11/2021 19:58

You are not assigned a gender at birth - your sex is identified (almost always accurately). Gender is just a load of codswallop inflicted on you subsequently. Better to get rid of unhelpful gender stereotypes if they just lead some people to believe they are stuck in the wrong body or born into the wrong sex or are wrong in some way. Ffs, if there’s anything wrong with any of this, it’s the idea of gender that is wrong, not the sex you were born into.

The mask. It's slips. Every time.

Could not give a fuck about your schoolyard trauma.

People always drop the #bekind, more high minded than thou act and show their true colours eventually, with startling regularity.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/11/2021 19:58

Haha x post!

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 08/11/2021 19:59

Just so you know, we can see what you are doing.

And if MNHQ choose to pull this thread rather than to delete your posts it won't change the facts about the thread.

Nope. We see through those tactics and we scorn them 😏

Blueskip · 08/11/2021 19:59

It seems the mask of "just be kind" has slipped rather far...

Yes, always when things aren't going their way. I've noticed this with the feminist threads, the MRAs and TRAs come on and when they fail to debate in good faith and win with arguments they resort to personal abuse, nastiness and often flounce.

"Don't call me it"

Just repeating that now to check that you aren't happy with a term someone's using about you without your consent:

"DON'T CALL ME IT"

Sounds just like...something else...what could it be?

"Don't call me cis". Ah, that's it!!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/11/2021 20:01
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/06/14/cancer-research-removes-word-women-smear-campaign-amid-transgender/
I don’t have a telegraph subscription but I remember something about that. It was a single campaign, not a wholesale change across the language of the organisation. Sometimes patient leaflets or campaigns get it wrong and it looks like they quickly changed it in this case. Otherwise, looking at all of the major cancer research and support orgs in the UK that I regularly deal with, they use “woman” and “female” quite generously and while they do mention transgender men and people with DSD, I would hope you’re ok with that and that you don’t think that trans men should be completely excluded from health info and treatment .

The only google results for “cervix haver” just point to mumsnet threads or conservative blogs complaining about it.

Blueskip · 08/11/2021 20:02

I think it's an attempt to get the thread deleted as it casts too much light on the cult ideology. I suggest we just ignore all of the nasty comments.
