“They made love all night then fell asleep in each other’s arms,” AIBU to wonder if there really are couples who do these things outside of romance novels?

Sometimes I read this kind of thing and then I wonder wtf they came up with that imagery. And then I wonder whether I’m the only one who wouldn’t even entertain the idea of falling asleep in someone’s arms after making love all night…

Or is it just me? Grin

I start getting fed up after 40 minutes.

You manage 40 minutes?

I’m good for 10. 15 at an absolute push GrinGrin

Back in my 20’s I was a total nympho. Now at 44 I really can’t be arsed that much. Think I’ve lost my mojo! Grin

@MrsCatE

Nope. Shagged like Rabbits, fell asleep (may have started of ‘entwined’ and continued on awakening. It t’were many years ago, when all yonder were green fields - and we didn’t have Netflix
I'm beginning to see the contraceptive side of Netflix, it seems to be the modern version of 'Oh, that crack in the ceiling's getting worse'

My novel reads like this: and after a busy day in the garden, she went to bed . her trusted dog at her feet.she gave him a stroke and went happily to sleep. She finally was totally at peace and left the nightmare memories of her abusive relationship behind her.

When we first met we did, now we are both too tired!

I do this now, but...

I'm divorced, so just dating. Early stages of relationships are wonderful, and even better in your forties rather than twenties as there's no desperate need to find the one to have children with.

I've spent many a wonderfully romantic evening over the past few years, a la the movies.

The flip side is you get dumped/you dump them every so often, and then you have to start the whole thing again.

Once. Way back about 30 years ago... I woke up after a long night of hot steamy sex with his arm around the top of my head and my arse stuck to his sweaty thigh.... so romantic (swoon)

All night? No thanks. No way I could keep going for hours and not get very sore! Honestly quick is fine so long as I get my orgasm, why drag it out? As for falling asleep cuddling, maybe at the very start of the relationship but not so much nowadays!

Fortunately, despite him having a super high sex drive, my DP is of the same mindset. So although he wants it more often than me, we’re both satisfied fairly quickly and are happy to not continue longer than necessary. We also both like our own space in bed and I turn into a human radiator in bed, so the falling asleep cuddling thing isn’t really us GrinGrin

We usually fall asleep cuddling but wriggle free at some point. I love it! Sometimes it's after sex, too. We did that the first time we were intimate, but we didn't go all night- we'd had a drink & we're not 21 anymore!

I have "made love all night" once. Well, it was a one nighter after a ball with a man I met there. We got back at 1am and shagged on and off til the sun came up at 5:30/6. The sex was pretty good but I was doing Saturday 9-6 running a shop floor the next day so I did regret it when I was exhausted by midday!
