Shamelessly inspired by another thread of a similar nature some time ago, what is going on in your local FB group this week?

Mine is:
Drone photos of the local area
A complaint about the quality of social housing with accompanying ‘mould’ photos. Responses urging the poster to contact BBC news
A post urging us to feed up the local hedgehogs so they survive the winter

OP posts:
RoseMartha · 14/10/2021 23:37

Not much

Pedestrians moaning about other people parking their cars on the pavement
Some pictures of the nature in the park
A regular traffic jam moan
And a baby hedgehog was found on the pavement on his own and rescued.

Drinkyourweaklemondrink · 14/10/2021 23:37

Mine has a French bulldog who is the doggie equipment of John Dillinger!
Every time this canine escapee gets out, his negligent owner asks people to bring him back to her! The last message evolved into full carnage with people telling her that she is a shit dog owner and angry posters stating the next time the little shit gets out they are going to take him and keep him!

This then turned into the owner telling everyone that they are too poor to own a f*ing dog! (With the C word thrown in for good measure)

Drinkyourweaklemondrink · 14/10/2021 23:38

Equivalent not equipment

SylvanasWindrunner · 14/10/2021 23:40

Dog poo. Always dog poo.

mnahmnah · 14/10/2021 23:41

Someone who has lost their drone, asking people to check their gardens

Some acts of kindness knitted mice have been hidden around the area for people to find

All boring compared to a few weeks ago when it was people shagging in the alleyway behind someone’s house Grin

XenoBitch · 14/10/2021 23:41

I can't see! I was blocked ages ago haha. Probably a good thing.

XenoBitch · 14/10/2021 23:46

OK, I looked under 'another account' :P

Top stories are....
A missing baby rabbit
Someone keen to know the current market rents for the area
The best car park options
Someone moaning about a traffic cone
Someone asking about the best place to get eyebrows threaded

thatonesmine · 14/10/2021 23:47

Endless posts asking for recommendations for builders, plumbers, decorators etc.
Lots of "found" items, posts saying they've found a bunch of keys, bank cards, cuddly toys.
Lost cats.

1990s · 14/10/2021 23:49

“It was so much better in the 80s when there was no gentrification and everyone could live in squats” Hmm

Reports of multiple break ins and associated Ring doorbell footage despite said gentrification.

Rinse and repeat for all time.

Daisy38 · 14/10/2021 23:50

Someone looking for big pumpkins.
Pair of glasses found - possibly belong to a child?
Lost glitter welly.
Possibility of bad traffic jams today. Update this morning did indeed confirm bad traffic jams.

QueenBee52 · 14/10/2021 23:54

I don't use it... but I can look out my window... hang on

Zilch 🌸

Cassimin · 14/10/2021 23:55

Arguments over faith schools not accepting children who don’t attend church.
Pictures of post boxes with knitted scenes on the top ( is this a country wide thing?)

HipHopBanzai · 14/10/2021 23:57

Lots of post about a lost dog.
Complaints about kids chucking eggs at cars.
Lost and found keys and bank cards.

Normally lots of chat about the police helicopter. I miss the 100 post pictorial series that depicted every substation in the local area!

XenoBitch · 14/10/2021 23:58

Yes, I have seen a few posts on FB of the knitted scenes on post boxes. I think they look cool.

Here is a great post from my local group... not made up!

Bit of a strange one but be careful I guess…

Me, My Partner & Son have just got home from a trip from the hospital… as we parked outside the shops my wife took our son up stairs as I was taking the rest of our stuff out of the car I turnt around to see a person dressed as a clown under the trees in the Avenue opposite the shops bearing in mind this only happened around 20 mins ago it was only around 4:50am when i saw him it seems rather out of place well i think a clown would be the last thing I’d see at 4-5ish in the morning anyway haha. He was wearing a red wig, green/white sort of jump suit with a clown mask he was stood just in the light as if it was that he wanted to be seen. me being me I said “alright mate” to which I got no reply. Very very strange not something you expect to see, didn’t know what his intentions were or are wasn’t really about to ask. police have been informed.

nancy75 · 15/10/2021 00:00

Helicopters - always asking about/moaning about helicopters!

Last 2 weeks have been mainly petrol-where can I get petrol related posts, that seems to have died down

Pictures of the local ‘famous’ cat

Work vans being broken in to or catalytic converters being stolen (during the day in front of the car owners)

Our local FB group is full of escaping chihuahuas 😂

We also have:
teenage hooligans
run over cats ☹️
the gates of the local allotments not being closed after use
adverts for local gel nails technicians

Spidey66 · 15/10/2021 00:01

Constant complaints about HMOs and the council's inability to do anything about it.

ParkheadParadise · 15/10/2021 00:03

DH's business is a very hot topic planning permission for 60 houses. Most people are against it. Someone commented earlier( I think his wife is on here)😂😂😂

Covid boosters and flu jags has anyone had theirs yet?

Lost dogs
Takeaway recommendations
Halloween costumes

Redglitter · 15/10/2021 00:07

Halloween plans
Fireworks - can't beat the fireworks complaints
Bad driving - you know the kind- to the driver of the black.VW Golf on Main St this morning... I mean really in the history of SM has anyone recognised themselves in a bad driving post and thought 'OMG they're right, in future I'll drive much more considerately'

'Bogus' gas men who had id a uniform and a gas van 🙄

ifoundthebread · 15/10/2021 00:10
  1. Portable toilets being emptied into local pond after big weekend event. 2. How high in the chain of command does someone need to go in the local church to get permission to use some of their derelict land. 3. Lots of job adverts needing people ASAP, no experience necessary, sign your soul away today and start tomorrow.
Ohanami · 15/10/2021 00:19

Fireworks.
Who's letting off those fireworks? It's only October ffs.
Who's putting on a firework display?
Fireworks are the work of the devil and should be banned.

Heartofglass12345 · 15/10/2021 00:20

A few months ago we had milk wars on ours, 2 small businesses delivering milk and sabotaging each other, it was carnage

We have sewing lady wars! 2 local women who both do sewing, alterations & curtain making. Both women have lots of fan girls. One of the women seems to have issues with taking in too much work & then ghosting the customers. Things have been so heated at times that one group has banned all posts asking for recommendations for sewing services.
MoonriseKingdom · 15/10/2021 00:29

Ours is a bit boring at the moment, mainly people advertising their services or looking for tradespeople. It always gets very overheated around bonfire night with the firework lovers versus pet owners.
