A life in my own country!

You can't have both.

Any form of talent.

I was never encouraged to try any extracurricular activities as a child, which I'm now really disappointed about.

Me too. Also, having perky boobs again and not saggy tummy.

I could get myself one now ... but as an adult I can see mum's viewpoint on them!

CigarsofthePharoahs · 09/10/2021 10:46

An MGB GT V8. Boy I'd love one of those. I couldn't even afford the insurance I'd need, never mind having somewhere to park it. Anyway, in a few years there wont be fuel to even run one.

On a more downer note - a life free from pain. Fuck you fibromyalgia and the festering horse you rode in on.

It can sound trite, but as an adult I went and did all the things I was forbidden to do as a child. I took up martial arts. I joined choirs. I take art courses. I hike, climb and wild camp. I took up sports and entered contests.

My mother is horrified - to her, women and especially mothers should sit indoors and be miserable. "What will people SAY?!" she gasps, unable to comprehend that my friends are also fun, active people.

Do the things. It's never too late.
