Thinking parties, theatre, concerts, large work meetings etc.

OP posts:
Bontanics · 30/09/2021 23:27

3 festivals, 8 gigs and a wedding.

drspouse · 30/09/2021 23:27

Of course people will have - nowhere will have had a 100% infection rate!
I went to a small local festival (mainly old fogeys like me reliving our youths) and I don't know any friends who went who think they caught it there though my GP said her teens and their friends may have.

alibongo5 · 30/09/2021 23:29

Yes, theatre, festival, football matches, pubs, gigs.

treesandrocks · 30/09/2021 23:29

Lots, packed theatres before vaccine, packed tube and train stations in London, hospitals etc. Not knowingly had covid.

Notimeforaname · 30/09/2021 23:31

Yup. Many. Went abroad too.

My friend and his partner stayed in his mothers house for 4 days over Christmas(mum had tested positive xmas eve) cuddled up on sofas together, hugging. Neither of them got it from her.

Grenlei · 30/09/2021 23:31

I've been to a couple of parties, and very crowded pubs/ bars. My DS and friends went to Download. No ill effects (we all had Covid last year though).

WorryMcGee · 30/09/2021 23:32

Yes. Two large festivals over multiple days, the cinema quite a few times, busy parks and trains and some running races. I caught it fairly early on last year, pre-Delta variant, and have had both jabs. I haven’t worn a mask since we were no longer required to (I won’t be going into why, but it’s my choice and came as a huge relief as I was avoiding places because of it) and it doesn’t bother me when others don’t. Had a nasty cold (confirmed via PCR as not Covid) but no Covid.

Sunshinesandice · 30/09/2021 23:32

Yup, bars , pubs , parties and large events for work and social ! No sign of Covid

HundredMilesAnHour · 30/09/2021 23:33

No. Went to a large work meeting last week. Now have Covid.

CamillaRose · 30/09/2021 23:33

I went to a birthday party and a wedding on subsequent days. No Covid. Just dumb luck (and my vaccine is obviously working).

RufustheBadgeringReindeer · 30/09/2021 23:33

Dh went to goodwood and then the family went to london and went to the theatre

So far nothing….fingers crossed 🤞

LawnFever · 30/09/2021 23:34

Yes, couple of gigs, plenty of nights out in bars, restaurants, the cinema, a number of long train journeys too.

I’m double jabbed, never had Covid, didn’t even catch it when my DP got it.

Ifyoudontlikeitdosomethingelse · 30/09/2021 23:35

3 weddings of 100+ people

Rave of 1000 people.

And quite a few other random parties.

Life goes on. Nothing to be afraid of.

maddening · 30/09/2021 23:36

Yes! Totally crazy.

I went out for meals (in and outside depending on the rules at the time.

But recently went to Manchester psych fest (which did require vaccine proof or test but in reality they just looked at my phone, did not scan or cross ref to my id) and this was gigs over several venues, o2 ritz we were.on the balcony so did not feel too worried but was still aware. Another venue had high ceilings and not too crowded but the last one we went to the basement and once the band was going the place got packed and I did think "oh shit I probably have it now" but no, and none of my friends that went got it either (we were all vaccinated)

And the other week I went to cream classical, however it was all outside but lots of people and again nothing.

maddening · 30/09/2021 23:36

And cream classical also required vaccine proof or proof of test

HollywoodTease · 30/09/2021 23:36

Yes. Since June I have been to 4 outdoor festivals and 1 indoor one, and over a dozen gigs of various sizes. I've also been abroad (Mallorca) twice and been camping with family in the UK. I do lfts every 2-3 days and have done 4 pcr tests in the period due to the travel. So far all negative and I (touch wood) have no symptoms.

I'm in my 50s, double vaxxed with AZ, carry and use a lot of hand sanitiser and still wear a mask to go shopping.

No idea if it's luck or not, but so far so good.

maddening · 30/09/2021 23:37

Oh and a wedding in July and nothing then either

Whywhenwhat · 30/09/2021 23:37

Yes, 2 holidays, the theatre, cinema a few times, a gig, A&E, pubs.

ThinWomansBrain · 30/09/2021 23:38

theatre quite a few times, last night of The Proms was probably the biggest and busiest event, I've been fine.
I did have it in January - supermarket trip, should have gone to Waitrose instead of LidlGrin

toastfiend · 30/09/2021 23:43

Yes, a couple of weddings, 2 plane trips (one of which we got pinged after as having been exposed), 3 hrs in the queue at Heathrow Border Control with several thousand others - no social distancing whatsoever and no ventilation, a busy show in a basement nightclub, some fairly packed bars and pubs and I haven't caught it. Pretty sure I had it early in 2020 before the first lockdown, but no way to know for sure. I'm double vaccinated, ditched wearing a mask quite quickly after it stopped being enforced and feel that the vaccine is obviously doing its job. Life has to go on at some point.

hamstersarse · 30/09/2021 23:44

yes, done the lot

I've been in very close contact with people who have tested positive the day after multiple times and still not got it. Had it though last year and have been vaxxed

DatingDickheads · 30/09/2021 23:44

3 of us, lots of public transport (plane, train, ferry, bus) to get there and back to a huge 3 day festival. Packed buses to and from the festival each day, no masks, lots of people singing!

2 of us had awful cold and cough after but no covid.

Sugarplumfairy65 · 30/09/2021 23:47

You wouldn't be saying that if you were a transplant patient or had blood cancer
Shamoo · 30/09/2021 23:49

Four huge football matches (+60k), one smaller one, plane journey, train and tube rides, lots of work meetings (with 20ish people in), pubs, restaurants. Not even a cold! Most of this since I was double vaccinated though.

Ifyoudontlikeitdosomethingelse · 30/09/2021 23:56

@Sugarplumfairy65

Of course I wouldn't say that. But I also wouldn't go to a rave of 1000 people indoors rubbing our sweaty bodies all over each other 😂

Such a stupid thing to say. I'm healthy, I've got nothing to worry about. Like most people. But carry on, let's all pretend were really vulnerable and shut ourselves away some more. That'll learn us.
