Thinking parties, theatre, concerts, large work meetings etc.

OP posts:
Oblomov21 · 01/10/2021 16:35

Yep loads, outside concert at Windsor racecourse, parties, abroad to Ljubljana, abroad to Lisbon.

julieca · 01/10/2021 16:37

I went to a large wedding. But it was full of people testing twice weekly with lateral flow tests at work, so that reduced the risk a lot.

trappedsincesundaymorn · 01/10/2021 16:38

Festival of 15000 people the in July and a small music venue holding 300 indoors in September.

FWBNC · 01/10/2021 16:39

@esloquehay

Nope. I caught CoVid and died. 💀🙄
Grow up
AlexaShutUp · 01/10/2021 16:41

Yes, two very big weddings. DD also went to her school prom. And we went to the theatre recently but probably not technically out of the danger zone for that yet.

lorn195 · 01/10/2021 16:47

Yes my husband and I did. The other week we went to see Ben Fogle (rearranged due to the C word). 900 people attended, and we have been perfectly fine.

Etinox · 01/10/2021 16:50

Aaagh you don’t know!!
It’s an often Asymptomatic disease

HermannlovesPauline · 01/10/2021 16:51

Several this summer - my life is completely back to normal

Ponoka7 · 01/10/2021 16:51

I started going back to the pictures as soon as they opened. I've been to pubs. My DD's have been to festivals and my youngest works at events in public facing hospitality. I know people who've been on holiday.
The people who I know who've caught it have got it at work, or just about their normal activities, shopping etc.

squee123 · 01/10/2021 17:01

I have no idea how I haven't caught covid yet tbh. I haven't worn a mask since it stopped being compulsory as they make me dizzy due to a neurological condition. I couldn't tell you the last time I used hand sanitiser. I've done multiple long journeys on the train, regularly for the train, been to lots of toddler groups, sort plays, restaurants, bars, been to my massive office.

My jab must be doing its job. Or my twice weekly LFTs have missed an aysompmatic case.

Oddly the people that I know that have had covid have been those being super careful. The people I know who are more lax have all been fine. Maybe our immune systems get more practice?

mondayschild21 · 01/10/2021 17:14

Outdoors yet, none indoors.

PinkFizz1 · 01/10/2021 17:17

Two weddings within two days of each other, one in Scotland and one in England. About 80% of the people from the Scottish wedding tested positive up to a week later.
Me and DP did 2 lft a day and a pcr ea b and avoided it… no idea how!!

ceeveebee · 01/10/2021 17:19

Yes - outdoor gigs, cricket matches, indoor large(ish) meetings at work, travel on packed public transport a few times a week, and also spent 10 days cooped up with my two COVID positive DCs and didn’t catch it!

Sirzy · 01/10/2021 17:20

I do in as much as I carried on doing my twice weekly lateral flows after and nothing. So as sure as anyone can be at any point
ceeveebee · 01/10/2021 17:21

Well I do LFTs at least 4 times a week, and also had two PCRS when my DC had it so I’m pretty sure I haven’t caught it
HungryHippo11 · 01/10/2021 17:21

Obviously the vast majority of people who go to large events manage to "escape" covid.

AFuturisticalSound · 01/10/2021 17:45

If you wanted people to agree with you OP you should have posted in the proper covid topic with all the relevant information in your first post

We've lived with covid for over 18 months now and the whole country is very largely back to normal, of course it's a strange question to ask if anyone has been out without catching covid with zero context. We aren't mind readers.

All the millions of people who don't test positive every day are doing just that.

LibrariesGiveUsPower45321 · 01/10/2021 17:55

25 weddings since end of June (I’m a photographer) no COVID. Vaccine must work.

LorenzoVonMatterhorn · 01/10/2021 17:58

Frequent work meetings with 100 staff in a room. Festival for two days in summer. But then again, i had covid last December.

Lucyccfc68 · 01/10/2021 18:23

Every single Euro match that England played in, including the final. 2 gigs, numerous nights out in busy pubs and a cruise.

I did get covid, from my DS, who went to a football match (small crowd). Double jabbed, so it wasn’t too bad.

optimistic40 · 01/10/2021 18:37

Lots of pubs, gigs, etc. But i had covid whilst locked down earlier tin the year. So I don't know whether I had extra protection from that, or if there just wasn't covid floating about in those gigs etc.

Libertaire · 01/10/2021 18:39

Yes. I have been to two international cricket matches this summer, and I went to a busy town pub last weekend to watch the Joshua fight. Double jabbed, obv. No Covid.

Asleanna · 01/10/2021 18:40

Of course!
I had two large weddings. No one had covid.

lolawasashowgirl · 01/10/2021 18:49

Yes went to the Roisin Murphy gig in Manchester. Rammed but didn't get Covid. Currently have Covid and reckon I caught it at the theatre last weekend.

Bonkerz · 01/10/2021 18:56

Big festival, adult butlins weekend, theatre 3 times and thankfully all tests negative so far.
