I think her comments today were spot on, although not really professional she makes a valid point.

OP posts:

They might as well elect Vicki Pollard as deputy leader. Raynor is a joke.

Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:09

@MadameTuffington

I think the sexist snobby comments sadly from women say it all, the things I admire about her are the things she gets looked down on for from others. Her anger is rightly placed and she doesn’t pander to those who think women should always be terribly poised, well spoken and never display anger.

Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:12

@Theythinkitsalloveritisnow

Don’t make assumptions about what I stand for politically or whether I’m WC or whether only WC can have an opinion on her.

She doesn’t need permission from you or anyone to express her anger to fellow activists.

The fact that anyone would base their political direction based on their personal dislike of how she expresses herself is laughable.

No need for male sexism with how women are trashing her bc she called Boris scum, come off it.

reprehensibleme · 26/09/2021 23:13

Tbh there are ways of displaying anger without the abuse. There have been a couple of occasions over the last year where Theresa May has managed to articulate anger against the incumbent govt, enough to make front page news, without resorting to abuse.

PersonaNonGarter · 26/09/2021 23:14

It’s really unprofessional.

Macncheeseballs · 26/09/2021 23:14

She is also representing women, it's not just about representing working class

PersonaNonGarter · 26/09/2021 23:15

@SusieBob

If anything I think she held back compared to what those pricks deserve.
Something suggests you aren’t a floating voter?

OK, so the thing is … Labour need to actually WIN some votes. Not get high fives from students.

Macncheeseballs · 26/09/2021 23:15

And boris's many gaffes have been professional?

twelly · 26/09/2021 23:17

Angela Rayner used inappropriate language for the setting ie an event she was speaking at. She is a public figure and the language uses needs to reflect her role - I also think her comment that northerners use that term as part of everyday speech was incorrect.

Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:17

Don’t worry calm down everyone, you have a very well spoken PM. Totally ‘professional’.

reprehensibleme · 26/09/2021 23:24

Leibh
Am, surely the point is that Johnson is PM and it doesn't look like he's going to be toppled by Labour any time soon. Why is that? What happened to the red wall. Are you suggesting that wc northerners who voted in enough numbers to return a tory govt are what? Stupid? Deluded? Rayner might have referred to Johnson and his cabinet as 'scum' but what does that say about the people who voted for them in their droves.

Perhaps it says more about the woeful opposition. Including Angela Rayner.

Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:24

@Macncheeseballs

I don’t think you’ve understood.

He’s allowed to be classist, openly racist, inept, endless gaffes, spend billions on his mates during a pandemic because he’s not angry, he’s well spoken don’t you know? Wink

reprehensibleme · 26/09/2021 23:24

Sorry, Leibham.

Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:25

@reprehensibleme

It’s become clear that people made a huge mistake voting for him, yes.

Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:26

@reprehensibleme sorry are you assuming I’m pro labour?

reprehensibleme · 26/09/2021 23:28

Voting for him twice? Why do you think people do vote tory? Especially wc people? Or perhaps the question should be why don't they vote Labour?

OhWhyNot · 26/09/2021 23:28

I want a Labour PM

I want a Labour Party that people feel confidence in who are led by integrity and professionalism

Not someone who plays to a crowd and isn’t clever enough to understand when they have shot themselves in the foot and puts more people off voting for Labour

It’s irrelevant what I think about Boris Johnson as I’m never going to vote for him but many people who have can be won over by Labour if they get their act together

Let’s hope Keir Starmer shows some leadership and sends her packing soon as he has done with the rest of the far left and their student politics

No surprise John McDonnell has backed her up for being so passionate Hmm

Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:28

Keir Starmer is a wet squib and Labour are a useless opposition in general.

I admire aspects of AR as a woman and a politician who is authentic.

reprehensibleme · 26/09/2021 23:29

Your posts would suggest so - or maybe you're playing devil's advocate Grin.

sst1234 · 26/09/2021 23:32

@Futurecatmum2

“Unhinged” “Uncouth” “Loudmouth” “Power hungry”

I wonder how many people would use these terms to describe a male politician quite as readily.

Nice try. But sometimes people are just that. Man or woman. In the case of Rayner, the coat fits perfectly.
sst1234 · 26/09/2021 23:33

Cap not coat, but that too when you come to think of it

Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:34

@sst1234

so as long as the coat fits, abusive nasty words are ok for her then yes?

then what’s the problem calling the Tories scum? that coat fits perfectly yet…

twelly · 26/09/2021 23:36

Her comment saying Boris Johnson should apologise was illogical as a defence. If labour are to return to power then they need MPs who act professionally

sst1234 · 26/09/2021 23:38

@Macncheeseballs

It's astonishing how many women want to push her down
Ah that’s it. When all else fails and you want to hide from scrutiny, pretend that people don’t like her because she’s a woman. Not very feminist, is it. Then again, Rayner is not a feminist, is she? She’s a misogynist who doesn’t believe in women’s rights. Convenient to take shelter as woman, when it suits though, right? While chipping away at women’s status as more than just cervix havers.
Leibham · 26/09/2021 23:39

@twelly

Why would it be illogical of a politician to be hauled before the country for saying the word scum, when the PM is given free reign to be racist? The problem is he isn’t ever held accountable. He should apologise for all his comments which cut much deeper than ‘scum’.
