I think her comments today were spot on, although not really professional she makes a valid point.

What’s wrong with being common?

There's common & then there's common.

I'm common, but I'm not Raynor common....

I have some pride....

Macncheeseballs · 26/09/2021 22:31

Lovely attitude right there.

Angela Raynor may be coming but she’s been through some shit and I have a lot of respect for her to be honest.

I agree

Labour are far too invested in look at what the Tories are doing

We need to hear what Labour shall do and how much better Labour can run the country

Confused Well that changes the context of your post a little GrinGrin
Macncheeseballs · 26/09/2021 22:34

Decadent, and what kind of 'half wits' voted for boris? your ignorance and arrogance in equal measures is astounding

100% this Why can't anybody in the PLP seemingly see this?
fournonblondes · 26/09/2021 22:35

She is cancelled 🤣🤣🤣

Iggly · 26/09/2021 22:35

Well that changes the context of your post a little 😂😂😳

Macncheeseballs · 26/09/2021 22:36

Saddenedbyitall, and you think boris was a 'regular choice' for pm?

friendlycat · 26/09/2021 22:37

Articulate she is not. It’s a shame she’s unable to express herself in a more grown up and professional manner.

Resorting to calling people scum is not what I want from our politicians frankly.

IsabelGowdie · 26/09/2021 22:37

Lord knows I am not a Tory but if I was in Tory HQ right now I would be rubbing my hands with glee and then my index finger would be hovering over the ‘Karen White Briefing’ button.

AR calls Boris a misogynist and a homophobe.

If I was a Tory I would say I’m not a misogynist I just recognised the differences between males and females and want to protect your teenage daughters from having to sleep next to a male on a hospital ward, or protect your ageing mother with dementia from being given personal care from someone she understands to be male (because he is).

I’d also say we have a proud history of tolerance of homosexuality in this country [this is bollocks but it will play well with voters ] and the Labour Party are standing by and letting young lesbians be persecuted for not wanting to have sex with males.

By calling them scum and all these things she has allowed them a massive shot at goal. She will be ridiculed for her student politics outburst, and will allow the Tories to seem reasonable.

I despair.

Shoes It's all about the shoes
Theythinkitsalloveritisnow · 26/09/2021 22:38

I really dislike her defence of this as it just being a typical working class way of talking to people. I'm working class, I live in a working class area and I promise, people around here do not go around calling each other scum and shouting at people. The suggestion that this is normal wc behaviour is very offensive actually.

Futurecatmum2 · 26/09/2021 22:39

“Unhinged”
“Uncouth”
“Loudmouth”
“Power hungry”

I wonder how many people would use these terms to describe a male politician quite as readily.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 26/09/2021 22:39

I think there’s a large element of class snobbery going on re AR. I also think that a large demographic in this country will absolutely like a politician who says Boris is scum. It’s basically Trump’s tactic - populist politics. I have sympathy for her because I don’t think many politicians refrain from slagging the opposition - watch Boris every time he mentions Scotland or the SNP - but they have mostly been trained to do it in parliamentary language. I think it is unfair and an unnecessary barrier to class mobility to expect someone who left school at 16 after caring for her mother for years and getting pregnant at 15 to speak and behave in exactly the same way as a product of Eton. The abuse AR is getting reminds me of Diane Abbott, who is elected time and again despite what you read about her on social media.

Absolutely this
Leibham · 26/09/2021 22:41

She was correct and doesn’t care whether any of you like her.

She expects people to focus on her ‘loud uncouth mouth’ and not her authenticity which is so rare in politicians. She expects to be attacked and is able for it. She knows people will focus on their dislike of her instead of her words. She doesn’t give a shit.

So what's the point of her being a politician if she doesn't want to have people listening to her? What is she going to achieve?
scoopydoopy · 26/09/2021 22:44

I do feel like labour has pressed the 'self destruct' button recently. Not just this incident but several shitty things happening.

Willyoujustbequiet · 26/09/2021 22:44

She's not wrong.

A lot of internalised misogyny in some replies here but in real life ( judging from my social media anyway) she's struck a chord.
