The newish 'quote' function is great for when you want to answer a specific poster within the thread. If you are just responding to the original OP, you really REALLY don't need to select 'quote' and include the whole fucking opening post before you respond.

The assumption is, that unless you reference a different post - either by poster name or by 'quoting' their post, you are RESPONDING TO THE ORIGINAL POST.

I soooo agree. It makes reading the thread much more difficult as well, since you keep needing to skim the quote.
