The newish 'quote' function is great for when you want to answer a specific poster within the thread. If you are just responding to the original OP, you really REALLY don't need to select 'quote' and include the whole fucking opening post before you respond.

The assumption is, that unless you reference a different post - either by poster name or by 'quoting' their post, you are RESPONDING TO THE ORIGINAL POST.

I have recently experienced a worse one, the OP mentioned my post in one of her subsequent posts, then loads of posters quoted her post, mentioning me. I am inundated with emails from MN saying I have been mentioned by every poster who quoted OPs post Confused
