'Quoting the OPs OP" WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?

FionasFanjoFondu · 17/09/2021 11:42

The newish 'quote' function is great for when you want to answer a specific poster within the thread. If you are just responding to the original OP, you really REALLY don't need to select 'quote' and include the whole fucking opening post before you respond.

The assumption is, that unless you reference a different post - either by poster name or by 'quoting' their post, you are RESPONDING TO THE ORIGINAL POST.

Reams of screen taken up be repetition of the OP is nonsense. Please stop. It is driving me batshit.

Posters who do this immediately get a mark against their name on my MN spreadsheet.

Like almost everything else on MN this is an utterly wanky implementation of something that all other forums manage much better. The quote should be editable as well, but MN always think they know better.
