To ask you to help me choose between these...?

Hi!

Getting married next year, I can't decide for the life of me which of these two bands I prefer.
I know they are more like an eternity ring, but I have keys said that I'd love something a little more unique and these two definitely fit the bill!

Can you help me choose..? I can't decide and keep looking back and forth between them. I love them both equally! The only leading factor for the ruby is that it's my birthstone and therefore more sentimental to me, sapphire is my mums birthstone though so I suppose it's still really special.

Any preferences?

If it helps, my ring is a pear shape cluster diamond with diamond shoulders. I will pop a photo in the comments! 🙂

Thanks guys! 😌

Really pretty. I prefer the blue I think.

MrsTesfaye · 15/09/2021 11:56

I prefer the sapphire one :)

HurryUpAndWait23 · 15/09/2021 11:57

Ooh I'm not sure that will physically sit well with that engagement ring, will it?

Will you get the opportunity to try the wedding ring on?
Can it sit underneath slightly?

HurryUpAndWait23 · 15/09/2021 11:58

Like this.
Otherwise you'll have a large gap.

I like the blue, but then I prefer blue to ted anyway. Red would probably be a bit more unusual so more of a statement, if that's what you want.

Have you tried them on with your engagement ring? I'm assuming the ring will tuck underneath/up against your centrepiece gems ok. It might sit a bit awkwardly if there's a gap.

clarepetal · 15/09/2021 11:59

They are both lovely but my fave is the red

baggies · 15/09/2021 11:59

The ruby one is beautiful. Just try it with your engagement ring to ensure they 'sit' right.

sunnygemini · 15/09/2021 12:02

Id go blue

icelollycraving · 15/09/2021 12:06

Sapphire

indecisiveastheycome · 15/09/2021 12:07

Thank you all!
I am having a hard time finding something that WILL fit with my pear shaped ring. I have found though, that my ring seems to sit a little higher than usual so I've got a bit of room to play with, and the two bands I'm looking at are a little lower lying so fingers crossed!
The problem is, it's an online store so I wouldn't be able to try, although I can send it back if It isn't right. I'm hoping that the ruby / sapphire will just tuck under my ring if that makes sense! Here's the side profile of the wedding bands:

OP they aren't low lying at all, they are quite sticky-out.

I'd recommend going to a jewellers and trying on rings with a similar shape so you can be sure.

I totally understand your issue though, I panic bought a silver band from Silverado the day before my wedding because I just couldn't find what I wanted.

I finally found the ring I wanted about 6 months ago. And we have been married 5 years.

indecisiveastheycome · 15/09/2021 12:14

It shows how much I know about jewellery
BlushGrin
I was looking at other eternity bands that sat much, much higher so it's probably why I thought it's a lot more low.

Eeek I'm not sure! Xx

Those bands will sit very high. I have an eternity ring which is much flatter and would sit under a ring like yours. I will take. picture and show you how much flatter it is.

FOJN · 15/09/2021 12:14

Have you had a look at wishbone shaped rings?

indecisiveastheycome · 15/09/2021 12:16

Here's the room I have under my ring, hope this helps :)

I prefer the blue.

ApolloandDaphne · 15/09/2021 12:17

Here is my band. As you can see the stones are more embedded in the band. Maybe look for something like that?

I prefer the blue definitely. Your engagement ring is bloody beautiful!

indecisiveastheycome · 15/09/2021 12:20

Thanks everyone! I think blue is winning so far! 💙

@ApolloandDaphne that's beautiful! Really lovely 🥰 I will have. A look for something less 'sticky up-y' and see what I can find!

indecisiveastheycome · 15/09/2021 12:22

@FOJN ohh, I did look at a few but nothing was taking my fancy! I absolutely love unique rings, anything antique / preowned is also great! Anything that I can't find in usual stores, basically 😂🥰

@golddustwomen thank you so much! It's my absolute pride and joy 🥰

Don't want to be a Debbie Downer but Sapphires are easily damaged (as are rubies) will the engagement ring rub against the stones or press against them? You might end up with the stones scratched or cracked. I've broken sapphires in a band myself. Diamonds are really tough and would be unlikely to get damaged.

Nice rings though!
