In response to to the other thread I was wondering what other Mumsnetters enjoy.

Staying at home?
Staying at home when the house is really clean and tidy?
Not having visitors in the very clean and tidy house?

I imagine there are some slightly more exciting pleasures and am hoping people will share them.

Swimming in the sea on a scorching hot day

Finding currency in a pocket
Pure joy. Even though it was your money in the first place and not free money!

Cleaning the house for visitors and preparing a meal, then the visitors being unable to come!

I would be gutted if someone who was coming for a dinner at mine couldn’t come.
But then I don’t invite people I don’t like to my house for dinner!!!

Watching a dog's joy. Mine vibrates when I'm about to throw a ball. He is pure happiness and it rubs off.

I was also going to say clean bedding!

A hot bath or shower after a long walk to ease achy joints and muscles.

Chocolate

Waking up on a weekend day and realising you don't have to get up yet!

That smug feeling after finishing an aerobics class.

Very rare time alone in our house by myself-heaven .

Our bean to cup coffee machine- makes every morning special

Being on my own in the house
Walking in the countryside in late summer sunshine
A clean and tidy house
Drinking a glass of cold white wine at an outside table knowing that nice food is going to arrive any minute

Coming home on Friday’s after our cleaning woman has been in.

90 minute massage. Plenty of time to relax and enjoy

Lobster swimming in butter

Winter afternoon spent in bed with a book and a fire

Going away with husband for a short break. No children and no cleaning.

Cool but sunny autumnal days.

A day with nowhere to go/nothing to do.

Getting to the point in a book or TV show where I get hooked.

Boxing day - the stress is over and I can relax.

One pot dinners.

Sitting by a Winter sea with a cup of tea or sitting by a sitting by a Summer sea with a cold drink. In fact just being by the sea.

Sea swimming in winter.

Being the first person into the house after our lovely cleaner has gone. I have to be out when she leaves for the full effect . Its the slight smell of cleaning stuff and the lack of chaos. The house even sounds clean for those 10 mins.

Sun dried sheets.
Cat purring.
Sitting in of an evening with both kids and husband, enjoying a meal together, and a yak.
A BBQ on a late summer's evening.
The smell of fresh mown grass, mingling with the rain.
Listening to a robin sing.
Watching the cat faceplant into the ranch slider as she goes for said robin, on the other side.

Outdoor swimming (especially the sea)

Walks (I loved them long before lockdown)

The beach (always loved even with kids)

Nice meals at a restaurant

Watching a musical at a theatre

Phone conversations with friends

Christmas fairs and markets, I love them!

Country walks in the cold
Someone else looking after the toddler so I can sit and read and drink tea in peace
A freshly made sandwich from a great sandwich shop, amazing fillings spilling out everywhere, that I can eat at home and get mustard or Mayo all over my fingers without worrying about how it looks

Coming home or my puppy and his whole body wags with utter joy. Leave that bad day at the door and embrace the happy little loon.

A really good roast dinner. With pudding to follow. Preferably all homemade, followed by a lovely brew and a food come induced nap.

Sitting in the garden on a summer evening, listening to the bees humming in the flowers. I played lots of things especially for pollinators and it makes me happy.

A quiet, really nice coffee from the machine when everyone else is out. Time to savour it.

When my husband buys me a suprise chocolate bar.
Cuddles with my children.
