I read the thread title and my first thought was takeaway.

But since everyone else is putting a bit more effort in…

Minute steak with salad. A super skinny (and therefore cheap) steak from the supermarket cooked for one minute in a frying pan with lots of garlic butter and served with a pre packaged Caesar salad if you can’t be bothered to buy lettuce and chop it yourself.

The garlic butter can be poured over the steak and the salad and it looks and tastes so much better than you would expect of something that takes three minutes to prepare (1 minute to chop and melt garlic butter, 1 minute to cook steak, 1 minute to prepare salad, find salad dressing, pour a glass of wine).

Fry 2 salmon fillets and set aside.
In same pan (with salmon juices)
Fry 2 courgettes cut into batons.
Flake salmon and put back in the pan with 1 small chopped chilli.
Add juice and zest of half a lemon.
Add cooked spaghetti and a ton of grated parmesan and mix it all together.
Heaven.

BookFiend4Life · 04/09/2021 01:00

So tough to choose just one, but we love spaghetti with a load of veggies, usually roasted broccoli, roasted green beans, sauteed onions garlic and red pepper, seared mushrooms, crushed chili flakes, and a ton of olive oil. Toss it all with whole wheat spaghetti in the pan to get it super hot and shower with parm.....
That or beer can chicken! I couldn't resist!

DeeplyCheesedOffWithLife · 04/09/2021 01:01

Roast chicken dinner. Super easy, always tastes good, and tomorrow's dinner is also sorted - chicken curry or chicken mixed into savoury rice.

In the states, Nashville Hot Chicken is a big thing. I make a healthy version and it’s sooooo good. There’s usually just the two of us, so I save half the seasoning mix for the next time.. www.eatingwell.com/recipe/255144/nashville-hot-chicken/
We al so eat a lot of fish, either wrapped around a garlicky stuffing or baked with garlic and wine sauce, and panko on top. We like garlic a lot.

Ooh I love cherry tomatoes pasta sauce especially if they are fresh garden tomatoes! I am impatient and usually start them quite hot with a lot.of olive oil then turn it down and deglaslze with white wine. So versatile and you can change it up and kind of way!
echt · 04/09/2021 05:59

Penne arribiata: penne, tin of tomatoes, chilli flakes, Parmesan on top, basil if you like.

MakkaPakkas · 04/09/2021 08:37

Soy ginger chicken (chunks of chicken marinated briefly in soy, ginger, garlic & brown sugar) with rice and book choi or similar stir fried with a bit of sesame oil &/or lime & soy
Easy and everyone likes it.

Home made pizza, using dough portions from the supermarket that we freeze. It's quick, easy and delicious.
I make my own pizza dough but I might try freezing it for weekdaysSmile

We call it prawn pesto pasta.

Fry up a green bell pepper with a load of prawns and garlic. Boil spaghetti or linguine.
When the pasta is cooked, dump it in with the prawns and pepper, and add a whole jar of green pesto, and give it a good stir on a low heat.
My whole family hoovers it up!
