I am always cooking the same things
I need inspo!!!

You can only pick one recipe and you have to love it!

Mine would be tomato risotto with basil and mozzarella.

Love this thread-I'm SO bored of my own cooking. Also, with three children who all have their preferences, it just gets annoying!

My go to would be pan fried salmon fillets, cooked with a bit of soy and honey and some sesame seeds, served with tender stem broccoli and some sticky rice. And I'm addicted to crispy chilli oil which I drizzle over the top.

Thanks everyone, I've clicked on lots of links you've posted and feel inspired!

Pinch of Nom keema pie. Like a shepherds pie but slightly spicy and with sweet potatoes. So easy and always plenty of leftovers for the next day

Anotherbrokenairer · 07/09/2021 21:39

Chicken wrapped in bacon with baby potatoes in garlic butter and steamed french beans.

Oh and also this pizza dough recipe. I make it at lunchtime when I’m working from home on a Friday and then when DP gets home in the evening, we just add our toppings and the Sainsbury’s pizza sauce and cook for a few minutes.

My favourite part is dipping the crusts into Nando’s perinase.

Chicken stew with dumplings! So easy and cheap and filling.
Thanks for this thread. Totally bored with my own cooking too.

Slow Cooker Fajita Chicken Tagliatelle

Really quick and easy - add tinned chopped tomatoes, chicken breasts, red and orange peppers, basil, oregano and fajita spice mix to the slow cooker, mix together and cook on low for 8 hours.

Add the tagliatelle 5 mins before you want to eat. Stir till pasta is coated in sauce, sprinkle with grated cheese and 5 mins later it’s ready to eat!

Mine vary a bit, but my recommendations for a really good easy meal is spaghetti carbonara. Cooked the way Italians do there is no cream just quickly beaten cheese, egg yoke, fried pancetta and spaghetti. If the spaghetti is fresh, it takes ten minutes, if dry maybe twenty. Really easy, and the whole family love it. Add a Mediterranean salad with lots of rocket and balsamic vinegar dressing.

ODFOx · 07/09/2021 21:54

Carbonara. 10 minutes from start to finish and everyone in the house loves it.

www.thelondoner.me/2014/01/shrimp-saganaki.html

With fresh, crusty bread and lashings of butter. Sadly off the cards for me at the moment as I’m dairy free whilst breastfeeding my wee CMPA baby, but it is my favourite summer evening meal.

Chicken and chorizo spicy salad or hunters chicken and thick homemade chips

For a really nice, but easy, everyday meal - www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/oven-baked-leek-bacon-risotto

For feeding the kids (teens) when we are off out for the evening - spaghetti, IKEA meatballs, tomato and basil sauce, grated cheddar or parmesan on top. Obvs they generally cook it themselves!

For replacing a Sunday roast, when I fancy something other than a roast, but still filling and warming (so more likely in winter) www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/chicken-recipes/chicken-squash-cacciatore/

For those days, where I really just cannot be bothered - pasta, pesto and Herta frankfurters cut into octopus shapes. Grated cheese on top, and if I'm feeling virtuous, I'll chuck in some frozen peas or sweetcorn with the pasta. Dirty, but good.

This one goes down well in our house:

Oven baked pasta sauce- vine tomatoes, basil, olive oil, mascarpone, loads of garlic and salt and pepper, red peppers and a crushed chicken stock cube. Chuck it all in a dish and cook till tomatoes blister and go soft then stir in pasta. You can blend it so its smooth also.

shas19 · 07/09/2021 22:53

Or garlic butter noodles. Fry off a fuck ton of garlic in quite a generous amount of olive oil till garlic goes golden at the edges. Take off the heat and set aside. In a pan and a splash of oyster sauce, large helping of butter, chilli and add back in the garlic and oil. Add in linguine and garnish with spring onions and parmasan. I think the recipe is by marion

WellLarDeDar · 07/09/2021 22:53

Fried salmon fillet, sweet potato mash and some greens roasted with salt pepper and garlic powder. And if I can be bothered, sometimes cheese sauce from a packet where you add milk and powder to a saucepan and heat it up. The sauce makes it a lot less healthy though!! But yummy!

Nannyamc · 07/09/2021 22:54

Steak stew in slow cooker
All veg and potatoes. Knorr dark beef stock cube. Serve with crusty bread . Can also cook chicken with veg and noodles at end. They all love it.

BaconMassive · 07/09/2021 22:58

Excuse the american names for foods in this recipe, unless of course you are american, then crack on. Anyway, this is a winner:

Wineat5isfine · 07/09/2021 23:35

Nope. Can’t choose one!

Summer dish: tomato, chorizo, basil and onion salad with toasted bread and goats cheese (I can share recipe if required)

Winter: beef and dumpling stew

All year round: chicken marinaded in spices, chopped, with cous cous, diced raw courgette and diced sundries toms

Tamarind bavette and chip pan chips. Cheap as anything and honestly you'd never buy more expensive steak again

River cottage baked chicken curry x

Confusedandshaken · 08/09/2021 08:17

For years it's been a platter of M&S sandwiches and a multipack of crisps but since Ocado took over the food delivery they aren't available anymore. ☹️

Dishoom’s Jackfruit Biryani - we don’t make it often as it’s quite time consuming, but when we do, it’s an absolute delight Smile

I agree with fish tacos. Any white fish (sometimes we use basa fillets but we also have used breaded fish for these), the small soft tortillas, shredded lettuce, onion, aioli and some chilli sauce. Everyone assembles themselves and they taste amazing with zero faff.
