DH thinks this is heinous and doesn't require sugar. I think it makes it so delicious (granted not healthy). Aibu?

Try is with elmlea on top followed by sugar. It's a once a yr treat! Ooh I'm starving. Your DH is wrong. LTB.

ParishSpinster · 01/09/2021 18:07

Of course it needs sugar! Weetabix without sugar? You may as well eat cardboard.

cushioncovers · 01/09/2021 18:07

I always have either sugar or sweetener on my Weetabix

QuiltedHippo · 01/09/2021 18:08

100% sugar, and a banana, lovely!

Janaih · 01/09/2021 18:08

That sweet crunch is divine. You have a dh problem here.

Peeceandquite · 01/09/2021 18:08

YABU to eat Weetabix at all. Vile stuff!

Cap89 · 01/09/2021 18:09

Oh it has to have sugar!!

Roonilwazlib1 · 01/09/2021 18:09

Sugar improves the taste by about 500%!

I only eat it without sugar when I'm on a diet.

Tal45 · 01/09/2021 18:09

YABU to eat weetabix at all, it tastes like cardboard and nothing you put on it changes that.

DevilFinger · 01/09/2021 18:09

No sugar or milk, butter and jam instead

PepsiHoover · 01/09/2021 18:09

YABU to eat Weetabix at all. Vile stuff!
This. Exactly.

Although when I was pregnant, I ate boxes of the stuff. Confused

0palescent · 01/09/2021 18:10

Oh no! We ate it loaded with sugar as kids, but not now.

superram · 01/09/2021 18:10

I wouldn’t now but did as a child. I’m sure it was less sweet in my youth!

FrozenCremeEgg · 01/09/2021 18:10

I have weetabix with no sugar , i dont mind it but eat it because its healthy

If i was going to put sugar on them i would chose a better tasting cereal in general

QueenHofScotland · 01/09/2021 18:12

I voted YABU but only because I think it’s vile 😂

My DM loved sugar on her weetabix though, and I kind of think, if you enjoy it then keep doing it.

Pemba · 01/09/2021 18:16

^butter and jam? - just can't imagine this being nice, wouldn't it be chokingly dry?

You need to pour the milk on and wait for it to turn a bit mushy. After sprinkling sugar of course (which I've recently substituted with Canderel granulated 'sugar'. Honestly can't tell the difference).

MinkeDinkie · 01/09/2021 18:18

LTB you are living with a monster Grin

DuckDuckGooses · 01/09/2021 18:18

Sugar and strawberries!!

Or banana and honey Grin

Or butter and jam....

TwoLeftElbows · 01/09/2021 18:20

I've never put sugar on cereal, except for secretly as a child.

However even with a spoon of sugar on, it's probably lower in sugar than quite a lot of other cereals.

2004bestyear · 01/09/2021 18:21

Sugar and hot milk

UserStillatLarge · 01/09/2021 18:23

For me the point of weetabix is that it doesn't contain sugar or salt. So I don't see why you would have it with sugar and just not choose another breakfast option.

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 01/09/2021 18:24

My kids quite happily ate weetabix without sugar until DH introduced them to the concept 🙄

Growuppeople · 01/09/2021 18:25

I can’t have them without sugar! My boy likes honey and blueberries

Mn753 · 01/09/2021 18:25

Just read the "why we eat too much " book and he basically blames everything on wheat and sugar, especially together, even though it's delicious Confused

Jaysmith71 · 01/09/2021 18:27

So long as it's Demerera brown sugar.
