DH thinks this is heinous and doesn't require sugar. I think it makes it so delicious (granted not healthy). Aibu?

My children always had Weetabix without sugar (because I'm mean). All of a sudden eldest would only eat it at granny and grandads house.
Took me ages to work out it was because they let her have sugar on her Weetabix.

I'm another who does milk and sugar, then in the microwave for 90secs

NigellaSeed · 01/09/2021 19:39

No sugar. Peanut butter and banana and cold milk.

Winter- boiling water and honey

GoodnightGrandma · 01/09/2021 19:40

I have hot milk, sultanas and brown sugar😋

Looubylou · 01/09/2021 19:42

YANBU if that's what you want to do. In the 70's it was standard practice with all cereals. I couldn't bear it now. Yabvu if you allow your children to do this or to see you doing this.

TopTabby · 01/09/2021 19:44

Oooh yes, a good spoonful of white, granulated, crunchy sugar! Pretty miserable without really.
Although if anyone tells me something I like is unnecessary I hear my disapproving dm & do it all the more! Grin

OhGiveUp · 01/09/2021 19:45

I must be a terrible mother @looubylou 😂

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/09/2021 19:46

I don't think I will ever eat weetabix again. It, mashed with water, was the only thing I could manage to eat for months when I was pregnant with my eldest son. The memory makes me shudder...

They're adding some sugar to weetabix, not snorting lines of coke off the breakfast bar.
CeeceeBloomingdale · 01/09/2021 19:47

Cold milk and sugar is the only way!

Roominmyhouse · 01/09/2021 19:51

Definitely better with sugar but I just have mine with cold milk and a banana.

Nitgel · 01/09/2021 19:51

I eat one every morning without sugar. Its nice

Galaxyinmypocket · 01/09/2021 19:51

Cold full fat milk with lots of sugar and eaten before it goes too soft

StopCryingYourHeartOut · 01/09/2021 19:52

Haha we had it with sugar as kids but I don't now. Genuinely didn't know there were adults still putting sugar on weetabix. Grin

LolalolaLola · 01/09/2021 19:53

Hot milk, stirred to mush. Sugar, brown for preference.

Blueuggboots · 01/09/2021 19:53

Warmed up oat milk and sugar.....

Alsonification · 01/09/2021 19:55

Omg you have to have Sugar or sweetener. I have to have ice cold milk & I have to eat them fast before they go soggy.
My sil once told me to try honey, said it was healthier & much nicer……..I still haven’t forgiven her for making me waste 2 weetabix ConfusedGrin

Whirlywooo · 01/09/2021 19:58

With sugar, banana sliced up and toffee syrup 👍🏼

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 01/09/2021 20:00

I love weetabix with brown sugar but it doesn’t compare to the deliciousness of shredded wheat with hot milk and sugar,, it’s my winter comfort food.

AuntyMabelandPippin · 01/09/2021 20:02

I can beat you all.

I have it with golden syrup.

Tis lush. Grin

Magnalux · 01/09/2021 20:09

Sugar.. milk.. into the microwave 2 minutes..mixed to a porridge like consistency is my everyday breakfast. I have never had a cold weetabix in my life!!

Weetabix was my pregnancy craving, I could get through a 48 box in two days but only with sugar and ice cold milk, as soon as I gave birth I couldn't even stand the smell of them and 17 years later still can't ! And I shit you not my dd is allergic to wheat...I poisoned the poor child with my weetabix habit🤣

UnitedRoad · 01/09/2021 20:17

Spoonful of sugar and a sliced banana!

I’ll have that for my dinner if no one else is in.

A girl I was at school with had syrup on hers, no milk though.

mouse70 · 01/09/2021 20:20

Golden Syrup or Honey if not sugar.
