DH thinks this is heinous and doesn't require sugar. I think it makes it so delicious (granted not healthy). Aibu?

Yanbu!

EbbandTheWanderingHearts · 01/09/2021 20:22

I like weetabix with a handful of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes on top. Yum!

bagelsandoranges · 01/09/2021 20:23

Lots of brown sugar... Yum!!

DerAlteMann · 01/09/2021 20:25

The ONLY way to eat Weetabix without sugar is to forget milk and spread butter on them (had them this way on a school trip to Wales - it's better than it sounds).

MiddlesexGirl · 01/09/2021 20:26

Butter and soft light brown sugar ..... oh the delight.
Or the same sugar with full fat milk, maybe a splash or two or three of cream.
There are ways of making weetabix heavenly 😂

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 01/09/2021 20:29

I always had this as a child/teenager but its definitely just a habit, I'm now used to eating it without it and find it completely fine/nice that way & a bit too sweet covered in sugar.

linerforlife · 01/09/2021 20:30

@PepsiHoover me too!!! Ate it everyday, sometimes twice a day Blush Ate some once DD had arrived and was horrified about how horrible it was, and threw the rest out!

GintyMcGinty · 01/09/2021 20:30

Sugar and sometimes chopped strawberries. But always sugar.

Tobermory · 01/09/2021 20:34

There’s no other way to eat weetabix.
Without sugar??? Surely not!

I used to have it with sugar on as a child and reading this thread now I really want some but I'm coeliac so I can't have any!

PrincessNutella · 01/09/2021 20:35

Of course you should have sugar on it!

flowerbus · 01/09/2021 20:36

YANBU! Its one of my favourite breakfasts

Unfashionable · 01/09/2021 20:37

I have crunchy demerera sugar & a few raisins on mine. Extra cold. Standard weekday breakfast.

Oblomov21 · 01/09/2021 20:41

I used to eat it. Microwaved with milk and sugar. It's not right without the sugar.

Ieatmarmite · 01/09/2021 20:46

Hot milk and sugar, yummy. Great on a cold day and one of the only breakfasts that keeps me going until lunchtime.

orangejuicer · 01/09/2021 20:51

Ooh breakfast for tomorrow sorted!

Thatsplentyjack · 01/09/2021 20:53

@DevilFinger

No sugar or milk, butter and jam instead
Wtf! No!
Thatsplentyjack · 01/09/2021 20:57

Milk and sugar is the only way to eat weetabix. All this shit about putting yogurt and berries on top 🤢. I wish everyone would just admit All berries are shit. They are always sour, and weirdly dry and yoghurt does not go on top of things like weetabix or porridge. Don't get me started on "overnight oats". No one likes it and the sooner everyone admits that, the better!

user1496146479 · 01/09/2021 21:59

Definitely with sugar, and milk left to soak until it goes all mushy!

I always have weetabix with sugar. My dc aren't allowed because im evil I don't want to rot their teeth at 8am.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 01/09/2021 23:23

Would never put sugar on it!

Banana yes, sometimes, but it’s perfectly good plain with just milk.

MrsSkylerWhite · 01/09/2021 23:26

We ate ski yoghurt with sugar when I was a kid. Crunchy yoghurt is blissful. Must be even better with weetabix 😁

CasperGutman · 01/09/2021 23:34

They're tasty with sugar. I always had them this way as a child, but don't now.

DS likes weetabix smooshed into a porridge, with a sliced banana, and a slice of Marmite toast for dunking. Hmm

SolitaryTree · 01/09/2021 23:38

I have golden syrup on mine!
I like to drizzle it on before pouring the milk and then watch the milk miss those bits of weetabix!
