DH thinks this is heinous and doesn't require sugar. I think it makes it so delicious (granted not healthy). Aibu?

It's cardboard otherwise

JLQ1020 · 01/09/2021 18:32

I like it plain with hot milk. But for the odd treat a teaspoon of nutella is unreal

RaininSummer · 01/09/2021 18:33

I must be odd as weetabix tastes quite sweet to me anyway. Had sugar as a child though.

SnapAndFartAllDayLong · 01/09/2021 18:33

Thats it, I'm having 3 weetabix with cold milk and 1 tablespoon of sugar on for dinner now!! 🤤🤤🤤

Dahlietta · 01/09/2021 18:36

Well I suppose you’ll have to do something to it.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 01/09/2021 18:39

LTB, he's a psychopath.

jusdepamplemousse · 01/09/2021 18:39

Well it’s inedible without it, so…

RavenT · 01/09/2021 18:41

It's so much better with sugar on it. Grin

When I was growing up it was normal to put sugar on cornflakes and rice crispies too. I would never do that now, but it was delicious...

TheGoogleMum · 01/09/2021 18:44

Yep much nicer with sugar! I also make it warmed up and stirred to mush...

Fetchthevet · 01/09/2021 18:45

Inch thick butter on Weetabix is yummy.

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 01/09/2021 18:47

My dad used to have his with black treacle and milk, wait for it to go soggy, then mix it up and eat. Envy
I like my weetabix Al dente with lots of sugar and milk.

amylou8 · 01/09/2021 18:59

Milk and no sugar. Just dry with proper butter is best.

Tempusfudgeit · 01/09/2021 19:11

A spoonful of honey on the dry weetabix, then lots of ice cold milk. Deliciously cool and refreshing, with crunchy sweet bits. Nommy.

MadeOfStarStuff · 01/09/2021 19:16

I used to have it with sugar but now have it with fresh fruit which adds enough sweetness

lilmishap · 01/09/2021 19:17

Instead of milk? YABU
With milk? YANBU
With hot milk? YANBU

lilmishap · 01/09/2021 19:18

Butter??? Are you all being genuine about that? I've never heard of it!

OhGiveUp · 01/09/2021 19:21

Weetabix should be crunched up into a bowl with cold milk and sugar added, then mashed together.
People who eat them any other way should be fed feet first into a woodchipper!

pinklillie · 01/09/2021 19:22

Crunched up with sugar and done in the microwave with milk till it goes gooey and caramelly like, we used to love it as teenagers. I'm on far too strict a diet to even consider it now!

Hemingwaycat · 01/09/2021 19:22

Always have honey or sugar, it’s tasteless without.

bonbonours · 01/09/2021 19:24

Weetabix without sugar is disgusting. But then I put sugar on cornflakes and rice crispies too lol.

hellywelly3 · 01/09/2021 19:26

I can’t eat it without sugar on. I don’t have sugar on/in anything else

MissLC · 01/09/2021 19:26

My husband thinks I abu as I like to warm mine up in the microwave, and sometimes add banana and honey or peanut butter Blush

It definitely needs something. I put sugar on it. I'm pleased I've got DD to the point where "all" she needs is some raisins. My DM doesn't do regular sugar but she will put fruit on it. My DH is the only person I know who eats them with nothing added.

soughsigh · 01/09/2021 19:34

I love weetabix with a disgustingly thick layer of sugar to give it some crunch when it goes mushy 😂.

Now I'm a grown up, I make do with berries instead but it's nowhere near as nice.
