To ask for your “game changers”

Things you’ve bought that have essentially changed your life for the better.

For me, it’s a swim dress. Basically a swimming costume with a little skirt that just covers the bikini line. Flattering, hides my stomach and most importantly it doesn’t matter if my bikini line is needing a little attention. It has completely taken the stress out of taking the kids swimming and now we go all the time Smile

Other game changers for me include the perfect prep (🥰), L’Oréal eight-second wonder water, and Pinch of Nom.

I'm blaming this thread entirely for me having just spent a small fortune (for us) on a Eufy.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 02/09/2021 16:18

Thank you @RainbowZebraWarrior,
I see what you mean with the little brushes. I have it in my basket, now for next pay day🙂

minipie · 02/09/2021 16:39

Can anyone answer about robot hoovers and pets?

We have a cat who hates, hates, hates the hoover. Will she run away from a Eufy?

CoRhona · 02/09/2021 17:07

Anker (Eufy's parent company) must love these threads, sales shoot up!!

@minipie Eufy is completely different to a Hoover though, much quieter and gentle movements. She might just be curious. She might hate it. Who knows?!

Cynderella · 02/09/2021 18:35

@minipie Our cats avoid vacuum cleaners, and they don't much like Eufy. They just avoid her.

You could set her to run round overnight. we used to do this, but now she goes round as soon as someone gets up and after dinner.

The cats aren't allowed in our dining room for several reasons, so Eufy is shut in there for 20 mins and then let out. You could do that - shut doors on her, but it's obviously easier to let her run free and find her way back to the dock.

minipie · 02/09/2021 18:40

Hmmmmm decisions! Unfortunately our cat is rather disloyal and has a couple of other “homes” so fear a Eufy would drive her further towards those rather than us… Thanks both

Window1 · 02/09/2021 18:57

A drinks bottle. I can keep it with me and stay hydrated. Don't need to buy single use plastic bottles of water.

You will not regret it at all! It's a complete game changer for me, I absolutely love setting it away to Hoover in different rooms, while I get on with other things. My floors are so much cleaner as well.
Coldhandscoldheart · 03/09/2021 08:17

Eufy people. Is there an issue with it ducking up forgotten Lego? Is it easy to rummage if it gets things you don’t want it to?

BippityBoppity87 · 03/09/2021 09:17

Eufy users. I'm seriously contemplating buying one. I have a Henry currently, which is ok, but quite bulky and heavy. I had the cordless dyson before that, which was shockingly bad

This one is currently in my basket. Is it a good model? Obviously £160 is a lot of money to spend and I don't want to end up getting the wrong one!

That is the better version of the one I have, so it should be really good. And that is a great price.

@Coldhandscoldheart the compartment for collecting dirt is tiny, so would be very easy to rescue items.

BippityBoppity87 · 03/09/2021 12:34

Thank you @LadyDanburysHat Smile

HereticFanjo · 03/09/2021 13:51

I joined the Eufy squad! Loving him so far!

@BruceAndNosh I use mine for playing radio (I have 2 now, the old one was getting a bit knackered so I've shifted it into the kitchen where it's used less) I use the multi room playing function so on my all day chores day I've got music wherever I go which keeps me motivated. I can also check the time (we don't seem to have clocks in the house now do we? And I don't wear a watch and don't have phone with me when doing chores) so I'm like "right come on, nearly done graph" cos I know roughly how long it takes me

Audiobooks through audible

Spotify with voice command to skip songs sometimes or ask for a song

I seem to annoyingly come up with my best ideas mid chores when I'm sweaty, filthy or up to my elbows in soapy water - or all 3! So I just tell it "Alexa, tomorrow at 5pm remind me to check x" or "Alexa tomorrow at 6pm remind me to chase up prescription" etc otherwise my memory like a flipping colander these days!

Also I'm trying to lose weight if I'm in the kitchen and I've forgotten my phone so no calculator I can use it to calculate calories eg "Alexa what's 287 divided by 100 times 35" to find out how many cals in 35g of something with 287 cals in 100g (and yes my maths is shit!)

Also weather forecast, what temperature is it etc

News headlines - local and national

Trying to think what else...

@LyraSilvertongueBelacqua neither of mine have ever been able to and customer service have been unable to help. Not essential obviously but would be fun

Also a fan of ready grated cheese. Used to think it was a "lazy" thing but now with my own health/disability issues I'd be a liability with a grater! That'll teach me

weegiemum · 03/09/2021 22:23

My dd2 is a beauty therapy student and last Christmas I asked her to give me a make up bag of essentials.

Concealer, foundation, 1 small eyebrow palette, 1 mascara, 1 eyebrow pencil, 2 lipsticks.

Covers everything I need (and she usually does it for me so I look great!).

Plus she gives awesome massages!

Cynderella · 03/09/2021 22:34

I don't buy grated cheese, but I do grate more than I need in the food processor when I'm making something that needs more than a handful. Excess is in a glass lidded dish. Not sure how long it keeps for, but 1) it's always nice to see it waiting 2) it doesn't wait long because we use it up much faster.

Lens replacement surgery
Electric bike
Gordon’s 0.0% gin
Dehumidifier for drying soggy coats, boots... and washing that can’t be tumble-dried when it’s too wet to hang it out!

I bought the Eufy 11s max this week and it’s fab! I love that I can get on with other stuff while it goes off cleaning. Should have got one years ago but they were a ridiculous price then.

I saw the Gordon’s non alcoholic gin the other day and wondered about it. Does it taste the same as the real deal?
Treesandsheepeverywhere · 04/09/2021 00:14

Also, those with electric bikes, any links please? Got my Pashley stolen but one thing I don't miss is the weight of it. Thanks.

JedEye · 04/09/2021 00:19

@MilesOfSand

Had anyone got a Eufy who has a dog that’s nervous of Hoovers? Wondering if it would completely freak him out.
You can shut the robovac in a room while it’s cleaning so your dog won’t be as stressed. I would imagine with time it will become less nervous as it gets used to it. But also it’s nothing like as loud as a standard hoover.
Notjustanymum · 04/09/2021 00:21

@JedEye, I have mine with tonic, and it tastes authentic to me. I’ve tried to find an acceptable alternative to wines, beers and gins for years, and this one is the best substitute I’ve found.

CreamPantsuit · 04/09/2021 00:25

Cruise control.

JedEye · 04/09/2021 01:59

Thank you @Notjustanymum
I fancy trying it but I must admit wasn’t expecting it to be so expensive!
