To ask for your “game changers”

Things you’ve bought that have essentially changed your life for the better.

For me, it’s a swim dress. Basically a swimming costume with a little skirt that just covers the bikini line. Flattering, hides my stomach and most importantly it doesn’t matter if my bikini line is needing a little attention. It has completely taken the stress out of taking the kids swimming and now we go all the time Smile

Other game changers for me include the perfect prep (🥰), L’Oréal eight-second wonder water, and Pinch of Nom.

Star Uggs.
Honestly, I'm so lazy about getting dressed to do quick things, like going to the supermarket or taking my dog around the back of my apartment building for a pee break. All the bullshit of having to take socks off / put socks on / tie or untie laces, agh. Uggs have changed my life, haha. I love that they're so cosy, it still feels like I'm chilling at home.

Star one line a day journal.
I love the idea of writing down what I've done, what I'm grateful for, what's pissing me off, etc., every day, then being able to look back on it and realise that life isn't just one long monotonous blur, like it can sometimes feel. The journal has enough space for 5 years of entries, so you can compare the same date for the last five years. I think it's a really cool idea, and it keeps me grateful/present.

Star Hour Blocks app.
I've been through a million planners and apps, and this one is a game-changer for me. I love that it's super simple, and it breaks my day down into simple one-hour blocks. I hate really anal time-blocking, but this allows me to just keep it casual and see what I should be doing any given hour.

For me, it’s a swim dress.

I have a swim dress. Thought it was brilliant. But nothing beats the comfort of random bikini top and men's swim shorts.

MarciaDidia · 01/09/2021 22:30

Lakeland have a good range of women's board shorts in different lengths with tankini tops, rash vests etc.

What rubbish. Lands End do.

@CleanQueen123
Try not using a nail strengthener. They can over harder your nails and actually make them more brittle. I use either a peel off base coat or a conditioning one. @Treesandsheepeverywhere the peel off base cost I use is UNT nail lacquer. It's really good. Mine last around a week and are very easy to peel off when I want to change colour.

jackstini · 01/09/2021 23:18

@Treesandsheepeverywhere Sensationail peel off base coat
Can remove my whole manicure in under a minute!

Shuffalo · 01/09/2021 23:34

MarciaDidia I was getting all excited there thinking Lakeland had branched out into practical clothing Grin

ulstermourne · 02/09/2021 00:56

For Eufy users... do they successfully clean room corners and perimeters? A relative has a robot vacuum but I noticed it wasn't able to clean corners and room edges well.

ulstermourne · 02/09/2021 01:23

Do you mean buy a humidifier instead of one of the clothes airers or as well as?

MilesOfSand · 02/09/2021 03:15

Had anyone got a Eufy who has a dog that’s nervous of Hoovers? Wondering if it would completely freak him out.

edwardcullensotherwoman · 02/09/2021 06:23

Keratin hair treatment. My hair went from dry, frizzy and uneven curls to smooth and straight and it lasts up to 3 months! I'm 3 weeks in so far and it's still as amazing as when it was done. No more straightening, just blast dry upside down. Total game changer!

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 02/09/2021 08:30

@Forgothowtospell
@jackstini
Thank you both, off to buy.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 02/09/2021 08:42

Atomisers have been great for everyday carrying. Had a Penhaligon’s one which I lost, then bought a set of 5 for half the price on amazon. Means every handbag always has a bottle.

Off this thread, I've bought a weighted cellotape dispenser, makes so much sense.
Swimming shoes, £12 from Lands End.
Swimdress, can't wait although panicking I should have gone one size up. Arrives today, so we shall see.
Still searching for board shorts.
Reusable sandwich bags.
Laundry basket for carrying ironed clothes. Why I made multiple trips balancing clothes on my arm I'll never know.
Thank you all.
Love the idea of the Eufy but not convinced about it managing corners.

CleanQueen123 · 02/09/2021 09:09

Thanks @Forgothowtospell. I was thinking of giving up on them anyway. I must have at least 5 half used bottles and none of them have made a noticeable difference.

Sillyotter · 02/09/2021 09:40

Window vac for the shower doors. Just vac all the water up straight after and it keeps it much cleaner with less water marks for much longer. Also great for just hoovering up any lingering puddles around the edges

Forgothowtospell · 02/09/2021 12:27

@CleanQueen123 still use your cuticle oil, that will definitely help. I like a good hand cream also, I currently use the CeraVe one.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 02/09/2021 13:53

@ulstermourne and @Treesandsheepeverywhere

Yes, Eufy cleans corners. She has little whisky brushes that protrude from her round body that whir round, scoop and suck. So effectively even though she's round, she can access 90 degree angles. If that makes sense. I've taken two pics. First one shows her standing still and you can see the brushes. 2nd shows how fast they turn (she's in movement so they are blurry)
