I was stood in a toilet que recently with some lairy idiots sat besides.
The men were talking loudly and occupying 2 tables which the que was in the middle of.

I'm fat. I know this. I was ironically days away from bariatric surgery.

It was the day, I wasn't dressed up, no make up. Just minding my own business.

One said loudly to the table behind me 'if this is the level of women out here in XYZ we should have just stayed at home'

They laughed and another said 'two fat ladies, 88'

I didn't even look at them. I didn't give them the satisfaction. I just ignored them and same when I came out.

I don't understand it. I really don't. Yes I'm fat. I'm 36. I'm not going to be attractive at all to these 20 odd year olds. I don't aim to be. I'm just minding my own business.

I couldn't ever imagine singling out a stranger with the sole intention of causing them pain emotionally.

I find it so strange.

Always men. When I was a care assistant as a teenager I heard a service user say about me 'I'd love to come home to her after the pub and hit her black and blue'. Women are objects to soak up their hate.

I happened to be quite attractive so didn’t get mean abuse just really vile sexual comments which have stopped since I have got older.

The only comments from strange women I’ve had have been lovely compliments on clothes. I’m sure there are a few horrid women but it’s basically men.

Unfortunately for them, there's no surgery to remove the twat from them.

Poor poor twats. They will suffer from this until the day they die.

Sadly nobody wants to be a target themselves. These type of people are bullies, like all bullies they get their kicks by intimidating both verbally and physically those who can't or are unable to stand up for themselves. Im a bloke and have intervened in the past when some drunk twats down the park started shouting abuse at passers by only to be threatened with getting my head kicked in. Not sure if they were bluffing or not but it's pretty intimidating nonetheless. I know it's sad that many folk do nothing, but self preservation is a strong instinct.

I think men are just more upfront with it. Most vile comments I’ve heard have come from women but they do it behind your back rather than to your face. There are awful people of both genders.

I left a job due to vile remarks daily from the all female staff . My crime was being over weight and being a non drinker .the rest of them all drank alot ,came in hungover but it was fine as boss did it .

Some people are just mean assholes and I can’t comprehend it either. Feel sorry for the women in their lives.

I can honestly say this, but know I will get bashed, but years ago, in my youth, you simply did not get this type of young men around, who blatantly went around being nasty and uncouth, and insulting to women.

Now the years have passed,its just common place to witness so many men, who are vulgar, and swearing morons, who all act the same. They don't seem to know what good manners mean. Some of them couldn't care less about how others view them..

My views,as an older person, are usually just swept under the carpet,,but it's very sad, and disheartening, to see so many men now, who are just yobby and gobby, and can't even speak properly to others.

They start early, i just had a group walk past my window swearing at the camera, flashing their bums, one told me to lose weight, oh and I had a laser pen shone in my eyes by one of them a few months back. They also like to throw stuff like bricks at my windows They're about 10-12 and walk round with fake Gucci man bags and hoodies and gloves like they're mini crime moguls Tell them to stop and get a load of abuse about my looks/weight/told to fuck off etc. I'm guessing they don't respect their mum either..

They existed in South London 30 years ago.

I can't tell you the amount of times this shit has happened to me. Its always been men. Never had it from women.

As an unattractive woman, I sometimes feel like I get to see the ‘real’ side of many men who are otherwise deemed polite, respectful by other women.
Perhaps that’s why some women will say “not all men, only a minority” 🙄 you’d be surprised just how many do this!!

Doubt it. Many, many women fat shame men or comment on the (assumed) size of their genitals. Women are often just as bad and it's completely unfair to tar all men with the same brush.

I'd have told them to fuck off! I'm sick of men thinking women are there for decoration and for them to make pervy comments about. I was in town yesterday and had to walk past a load of workmen who were doing some work in the pedestrian only area. They all made comments and jeers as I went past and were told to fuck off.

This happened to my friend a few weeks ago.
She must not have looked their way or something as they called her a fat, ugly cow for no reason - she’s a size 6 and beautiful!

I’ve noticed this several times now.
Some men want you to show you fancy them by looking at them and they are insulated if you don’t show that you’ve noticed them.

It really is not the case that “women are just as bad”. Don’t know what your agenda is but that is flat out wrong. The abuse from men to women is endemic.

I know this is of little consolation but think what utterly pathetic, insecure people they have to be to either make a comment like that or laugh at it. And how weak and pathetic a person you'd have to be to hear your mate make a comment like that and not challenge it.

Can I just point out that EVEN IF the OP was going to be obese for the rest of her life, it’s STILL not ok for randoms to make comments on her attractiveness. There’s a lot of ‘at least you won’t always be fat but they’ll shears be pricks’ comments and it’s irrelevant really because no one should be making comments about a stranger’s appearance like that.

Right on. I am fat too, that doesn't mean I deserve disrespect from a bunch of randos. Women's value does not lie in how attractive they are to assholes who deserve no respect because of their asshole behavior.

In fact, this kind of behavior makes me want to gain more weight just to piss them off. I won't strife for it, but if it happens I am fine with it.
