Pampers newborn - rip off or worth it

Pampers newborn seem ridiculously overpriced in comparison to supermarket alternative. Are they really worth it?

They are awful, used them for my newborn grandson, they leak horribly at the side.

AllTheSingleLadiess · 08/08/2021 21:24

Supermarket or Boots own brand were much better ime

SandandFog · 08/08/2021 21:24

Aldi were better Smile

dontblamemee · 08/08/2021 21:25

I always use pampers, they're so much softer than supermarket alternatives. Never had a problem with them.

girlmom21 · 08/08/2021 21:25

Absolute rip off. Try Aldi or Lidl.

Rabbitheadlights · 08/08/2021 21:25

No they are not worth it, 7DC here and I've tried every nappy that ever there was and always come back to Asda little angels!

Zarene · 08/08/2021 21:26

I much prefer Tesco's.

Honestly, save your money!

PurpleFlower1983 · 08/08/2021 21:26

Aldi premium are about the same as the Pampers ones, we have 3 different brands on the go at the moment! The Asda ones are awful and feel like plastic!

FirmlyRooted · 08/08/2021 21:26

Worth it. But that was 7 years ago, other brands probably better by now

whatswithtodaytoday · 08/08/2021 21:28

Much prefer Pampers to all the supermarket ones. They either didn't fit properly so leaked, or were plasticy and horrible feeling. Didn't try Aldi/Lidl as we don't shop there and didn't see the point in going just for nappies.

bloodywhitecat · 08/08/2021 21:29

I use Aldi or Lidl on all of my newborns (foster parent) I have never had a problem with them.

WhatNowWorld · 08/08/2021 21:29

They smell strongly of plastic to me. Only used them when my son was born as no one else sold size 0/tiny baby. After that, Asda little angels and Morrisons Nutmeg have been great!

If you have any more, it's worth it for your bank balance!
TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/08/2021 21:30

Aldi fan here.

Isanyholeagoal · 08/08/2021 21:30

Rip off IMO. Every nappy leaked. We use Sainsbury’s nappies, never had a problem with them

QforCucumber · 08/08/2021 21:30

I found pampers had an awful smell when they had been weed in. Tesco here.

popcornlover13 · 08/08/2021 21:30

My lo leaked through every brand of nappy apart from pampers as a newborn! Every time he moved up a size I tried a different brand. I think it was when he moved to size 4 we swapped to Lidl and haven't looked back since!

Tipofamatch · 08/08/2021 21:31

Exactly what @whatswithtodaytoday said. Pampers just tend to be more reliable

Midnightstar76 · 08/08/2021 21:31

Rip off! The worst nappies of the lot. I found Lidl’s own brand the best by a long shot from all that I tried.

DrGoogleSaysSo · 08/08/2021 21:31

I prefer Lidl ones, never leaked unlike Pampers.

iloveicelollies · 08/08/2021 21:32

So far have used boots, nutmeg and also someone bought us the Aldi premium so used them. Don't shop there (always get online) so they'd have to be really good for me to shlep all the way there to get nappies. baby isn't sleeping at all (nearly a month) and saw advert for pampers that has seduced me 😂 with their special special extra layer. Im at the stage of wanting to try anything but dh bolked at the price of pampers compared to what we've been getting. Thought I'd better check people's thoughts.

Potatoy · 08/08/2021 21:32

Depends on your baby. Mine got sore with anything else I tried apart from kit and kin (which were more expensive!). Until about 4 months then boots own brand and aldi own brand were amazing.

Potatoy · 08/08/2021 21:33

You can sometimes get pampers on offer at boots and they do a parent club where you get extra advantage card points.

dontblamemee · 08/08/2021 21:34

Pampers baby dry. I buy a massive bag of like 80 for £8.95 and it lasts weeks. I hate the supermarket own ones they're so thick and hard.

Cosywithcandles · 08/08/2021 21:34

Always used supermarket ones with my eldest, think it was usually Tesco's at the time.

Then with youngest, Pampers were the only ones that didn't leak.
