You guys need to stop filling the thread when nothing is happening!!

In the meantime I had the most amazing nights sleep last night. Absolutely full of food and had an amazing day and frankly this morning I couldn't care if he's there for 6 months Grin

OP posts:
PizzaPiePizzaPie · 02/08/2021 10:39

I suspect he thought you were just locking the gates to make a point and in fact they are normally open. But they’re not. Ha!

cameocat · 02/08/2021 10:40

Love your brother's solution!

HyacynthBucket · 02/08/2021 10:40

I just imagined what he might be like when he is finally forced to see you and ask for the gate to be opened, OP. I'll bet he will be all casual and cheerful and say something like "No hard feelings then", while sticking his hand out to shake your hand. Hope you have none of this b..shit from him, but if you do, please don't give an inch and be nice and smiley, or shake his hand, which is what he wants. He will think he has won and put the little woman in her place, to brag about with his mates afterwards.

CallmeHendricks · 02/08/2021 10:43

I wonder if this bloke is his brother?

LavenderAskew · 02/08/2021 10:44

Yes, I don't think the OP needs to update FB constantly saying it's still there.

He's either aware if this and thinking he's annoying the OP so got one up on her or he's trying to get the car back without having to encounter the OP.

Either way he's pathetic!!

As for the sister, who knows - probably a coincidentally imposter if he's on some sort of power play off in his head or could be the actually his sister if he's too scared to interact

TheSunShinesBrighter · 02/08/2021 10:47

Where is he?!
This is so odd!

FenceSplinters · 02/08/2021 10:49

I like the idea of your DB’s friend posting 😆

KupoNutCoffee · 02/08/2021 10:51

I've been lurking, but cannot believe this has gone on so long!

I'm surprised he hasn't sent someone else in (one of his poor kids) to knock the door and ask for the gate to be opened, while another adult waits in the car and pointedly looks dead ahead to avoid acknowledging the OP.

Or, calls the police/insurance and claims its 'stolen' and/or tried knocking for hours and no-one has answered.

Anything to avoid apologising himself.

Leave it entirely, it's now a fetching eyesore driveway ornament. Please name it and put a little sign up. Or a for sale sign Halo. Depending on its previous life, it could have a flat battery soon enough. Now won't that be even more embarrassing!

SpiderinaWingMirror · 02/08/2021 10:52

Lol. Maybe it's about to be repossessed so it's all working in his favour.
Might be there til next pay day

theemmadilemma · 02/08/2021 10:52

Please do what your brother suggested.

I love the legend of the FC. Love local stuff like that. lol

LavenderAskew · 02/08/2021 10:55

I must admit, while obviously you can't damage the car, I would be tempted to put food scraps on the roof just to encourage bird poo. Petty as that is.

Mountainpika · 02/08/2021 10:56

If he offers to shake hands, make sure you've got a good handful. Well, you will have just been mucking out the horses, won't you.

Mrstreehouse · 02/08/2021 11:00

Can you report it as being abandoned on your land?

kensington09 · 02/08/2021 11:00

Placemarking again!! Can't believe he still hasn't been!!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/08/2021 11:05

It’s been a long time since a thread(s) on here has kept me in such suspense.

KnightandDay · 02/08/2021 11:05

Day 3😲😲
Can't believe he's still there! It's really a case of who blinks first, he's hoping you open the gate & he can just drive out without having to face you. GIT!!
Hang on in there @BlueEyesWhiteDragon 🚗🚜

bedtimealready · 02/08/2021 11:05

Unbelievable CF behaviour. Parking thread of the year.

1WayOrAnother2 · 02/08/2021 11:09

Amazing that he will go to such lengths rather than simply apologise and get the gate opened!

He must have so enjoyed telling you I'll just be '5 mins' (and 'fooling' you) when intending to park for the whole bike-ride... The locked gate has made him look silly...

I expect he intended to cut the lock and collect the car last night.

GirlsGirlsEverywhere · 02/08/2021 11:10

I am shocked by his audacity. What a CF. I’d be getting so mad in your shoes. Can’t you scratch the car, preferably spelling something obscene. He’d never be able to prove it.

notapizzaeater · 02/08/2021 11:10

I bet he's trying to talk his wife into collecting it !

REP22 · 02/08/2021 11:12

If the vehicle is left there for long enough, nature will start to take it over without BlueEyesWD having to do anything.

And as far as emergency access goes, two of my local similar-sounding areas have had emergencies in recent years - one on a route with a wooden barrier and the emergency services got there just before a ranger turned up with a key and a separate incident with a horse and rider in a dangerous place where they shouldn't have been, with sturdy barriers and precarious access. In both cases the ESs got through very quickly. They have (or can quickly summon) the tools and, in most cases, they get though. They don't hang about. CF would be liable for any collateral damage to his route-blocking kn*b-chariot.

It really is bizarre though. I can't wait to see what happens next. I hope the stuffed-animal army didn't get too wet in their valiant efforts to guard the CFer-Mobile. Does DB definitely have to go home today? And can we Crowd-Fund a slap-up carvery for the OP, once victory is achieved...?!

I did nominate the first two (before this one started) threads for MN Classics... Wink

CandyLeBonBon · 02/08/2021 11:13

Knob-chariot!!! 😂😂😂

ChainJane · 02/08/2021 11:16

I can't help but think this won't end well. The man will get his mates to pull the fence or gate down and then he will just "happen" to turn up a moment or two later, "find" that the gate is open and drive off. I mean, I know the OP can get it on camera but if the people who pull the gate down obscure their number plate and wear masks it'll be difficult to prove who it was - I guess there's not a huge amount of CCTV in the area.

Personally I'd just leave the gate open and let him collect the car. Weak but preferable to having to replace a damaged gate that's been pulled down. That said, the OP is quite well off, so if you can afford it then go for it!

SoupDragon · 02/08/2021 11:18

Personally I'd just leave the gate open

She can't leave the gate open because that invalidates her insurance.

Howshouldibehave · 02/08/2021 11:19

Personally I'd just leave the gate open and let him collect the car

I can’t believe anyone who has read the thread and know WHY the OP needs to lock the gates, would write this!?
