He doesn't even DEMAND a specific time, it's about 5pm. Which might mean anything from 4 to 6

Take any keys you have to that gate with you, OP. Then no one could open it even if they wanted to.

I am absolutely staggered by men like this. I used to be married to one (I wonder why that ended?). They are so utterly self-righteous that it is physically impossible for them to do anything wrong or need to apologise. If he's like my ex he will have done some amazing mental gymnastics to make this all your fault. He's probably been telling other people about the awful woman who has held his car to ransom.

I'd have had it towed and dumped somewhere inconvenient by now.

We live on a single track road and people park in our turning circle for the tractors.

We literally can’t get the tractors out the yard when people park in them, and they refuse to move when asked.
We’ve lost many days work due to inconsiderate parking wankers.

Are you sure it's not Dominic Cummings? He could have decided his eyesight wasn't up to scratch which is why he had to cycle home after testing it on a drive on Saturday. I seem to remember him stopping for a picnic on the way home from Barnard Castle. He would definitely never apologise as that's for the little people not the likes of him.
