I just thought I'd share this for anyone struggling with the hot weather or menopausal hot flushes! 🥵

DH said a guy at work was using one so he bought one for me and it's amazing Grin

I've been wearing it since it arrived this morning and despite looking like a DJ who's forgotten where her ears are, it's made an amazing difference and kept me cool all day.

Anyone else tried them? They're a bit noisy at first but my brain has kind of filtered the noise out in favour of the constant cool air.

We can see this thread is a few years old so some of the suggestions may be out of stock, but we’ve recently updated our best neck fan guide with plenty of Mumsnetter-approved recommendations, all tried and tested by MNHQ. We hope it helps.

Shurrup.
I look like the beautiful flowy locks woman in the Florence and Fred advert in mine.

I wouldn't risk that Shirl you don't want that chomping up rogue thigh pubes.

imnottoofussed · 18/07/2021 17:58

Can you run in one? Theoretically, I'm sure none of you want to actually try running today Confused I was looking at the one with the actual fans on yesterday thinking it might be handy for when I'm on the treadmill but not sure if it will bounce about on my neck

Raffles1981 · 18/07/2021 18:00

OP , you are officially my favourite poster. And they are dirt cheap!! Ordered Grin

ThinWomansBrain · 18/07/2021 18:09

If you're one of the arses on the bus or tube so thick that you think the importance of a mask is to cover your bloody chin (or ear), don't add a bloody portable fan to waft your covidy germs around even further.
AND London - TfL - so the twats on the bus this morning should still be wearing masks tomorrow, let alone today.

DroopyClematis · 18/07/2021 18:12

Thanks @WorraLiberty
Just ordered one.
Had no idea these existed!

Animum2 · 18/07/2021 18:12

My Mil discovered these recently and sent me one, they are amazing

Oblomov21 · 18/07/2021 18:18

I've ordered one thanks OP.

Kleach58 · 18/07/2021 18:18

I read this thread and ordered one immediately! I have never heard of them! Can’t wait!

housemdwaswrong · 18/07/2021 18:35

Just ordered one each for us here! I take steroids which affects temperature regulation, and this weather is killing me. Thabks for this post. What's the bet they come at 10.00pm tomorrow? :)

noodlezoodle · 18/07/2021 18:44

Worra you obviously need another one so you can keep one charging at all times Grin

Combining with a water spray is an excellent idea LCDIT

EssentialHummus · 18/07/2021 18:48

Oh god I love mine. Pregnant and huge, and it lives on me semi-permanently. I’d say 8 hours a charge is realistic. DH thinks they are made of leftover computer CPU fans!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 18/07/2021 18:49

Thank you so much! I literally wilt in the heat so this is brilliant. Can't wait for it to arrive

beentoldcomputersaysno · 18/07/2021 18:56

They look great OP. Ordering one!

mineofuselessinformation · 18/07/2021 18:57

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles, that would be my worry - I went on a speedboat years back and ended up doing a passable impression of Rod Stewart! 🤣🤣🤣

toastantea · 18/07/2021 19:01

It's dropped in price since you posted but the delivery time has extended Shock

hagsrus0 · 18/07/2021 19:03

I have two so can recharge one while wearing the other
**BUT I had to return two because they died on being plugged in to re-charge.

Hoping these two will last at least for the summer, but I hold my breath each time I plug them in.

Also have a little handheld VersionTech which is wonderful for close-up cooling.

MooChops89 · 18/07/2021 19:11

Genius little invention isn't it! I bought one last year while extremely pregnant, was a life saver. Completely forgot about it til I saw this thread, charging mine now. Thanks OP!

AlanThePig · 18/07/2021 19:16

I bought one last year and use it when I'm gardening. Only slight issue is if you have long hair it can pull it in and jam it.

TrickorTreacle · 18/07/2021 19:28

@WorraLiberty

For anyone wondering what I'm blithering on about, ]]
Please note that when I add your item to my basket, it says delivery between 4th and 13th of August. That would be no good for me.

Try this instead: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08ZHLFWW4?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

It's a couple of quid more expensive but it's on Amazon Prime. I have ordered it and it's due for delivery tomorrow.

Maybe you could anchor it with your bra straps?
hookiewookie29 · 18/07/2021 20:07

I need these in my life!
Would I look silly wearing them in the pub?

stillcrazyafterall · 18/07/2021 20:15

Ordered! How have I never seen these before?
