AIBU to be annoyed that Boris Johnson is not isolating?

MN please don’t put this in the coronavirus topic. Is about the difference in rules. Things to consider: as people know who he is and the news, vulnerable people will be able to avoid him but should he set an example? Also there are hundreds of thousands of people isolating and missing out on well deserved holidays. Including a teacher’s daughter on her third isolation so the teacher can’t go.

AIBU = he should not isolate
AINBU = he should isolate

Yabu, they are doing the BLF pilot scheme as are many many other individuals, I currently have 4 friends and 22 colleagues who are doing the scheme and all so far are still having BLF negative results, so far all of them would have isolated for no reason.

BlatantlyNameChanged · 18/07/2021 09:33

Is that the pilot that is randomly assigned? What a coincidence Johnson and Sunak were both chosen for it Hmm

Yup
1starwars2 · 18/07/2021 09:35

I don't think it sends the right message to include Downing St in the study. This will discourage compliance with isolation.

BlatantlyNameChanged · 18/07/2021 09:35

Remember everyone, no need to isolate at all now, just tell people you're taking part in a pilot.

Rainallnight · 18/07/2021 09:36

I think it’s fucking outrageous. Yes there’s a pilot but no way was bloody Downing St randomly assigned. They can’t do the right thing, they’re just inherently unable to. Absolute fuckers.

Pumpkinstace · 18/07/2021 09:37

Why not in the corona topic?

Its about corona at the end of the day.

PomegranateQueen · 18/07/2021 09:37

How does he expect young children and teens to stay in for 10 days if he can't do it himself. Bloody cheek.

TidyDancer · 18/07/2021 09:37

YANBU at all OP.

InMySpareTime · 18/07/2021 09:38

YANBU, it's amazing how MPs and high profile people are far more likely to be "randomly" allocated to this pilot scheme than statistics would allow.
Meanwhile, children are repeatedly isolating, thousands of people's jobs are at risk, and the pilot scheme continues, but only for the important people.

Mansplainee · 18/07/2021 09:38

But OP, they have conveniently been assigned to take part in the pilot that they made up!

We got pinged by the app yesterday. I’ll be following their lead and doing daily tests rather than isolating. As I’m sure will many people.

SantaSue · 18/07/2021 09:38

He's the biggest hypocrite in the world but to be fair various organisations are doing the pilot, mine is. Daily LFT tests if it was a positive contact at work. If we didn't do that we would have no workforce left at the moment.

Maybe that’s what they want
HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 18/07/2021 09:38

I don’t think it matters tbh, life has to move on, if they are testing negative I cannot see any reason why they can’t continue to life a normal life. Life has to move on and I personally believe this is a step in the correct direction.

CremeEggThief · 18/07/2021 09:38

Boris is Boris. Based on his past history, why would he suddenly change and do the right thing now? YABU.

dangerrabbit · 18/07/2021 09:38

Thing is, these people will get away with this, they will carry on having a good approval rating, and people will keep voting for them 🤔

Kitkatchunkyplease · 18/07/2021 09:39

I think any employer but downing St should be involved in the pilot. We detest them already and it sends the wrong message.

Can my toddler be in the scheme. I've kept her in the house for days now because her bubble burst.

Sycamoretrees · 18/07/2021 09:39

YABU simply for not putting this in the coronavirus topic your self.

Mansplainee · 18/07/2021 09:40

Agreed. But that should be the case for everyone. Not just the ‘important’ ones

This magical pilot scheme that’s benefiting those at the top mainly.

I don’t see how daily testing in this pilot is sensible - because by the time you’ve got a positive you may have already spread the virus.

Iggly · 18/07/2021 09:41

LFTs aren’t very accurate - which makes the pilots even more ridiculous IMO

lagerandblack · 18/07/2021 09:41

This is why I wont be isolating. If its good enough for the goose and all that.

ichundich · 18/07/2021 09:42

But wait until the next electionincomes round, I bet people will still be voting for these clowns!

theotherfossilsister · 18/07/2021 09:42

Yeah, pretty angry on behalf on my friends keeping two kids inside in this lovely weather, when he can do this.

Winterfellismyhome · 18/07/2021 09:42

Rules for thee but not for me
