And we are supposed to be going as a whole family, with the grandparents, to France on Sunday.

Does anyone know how I can find out if I will be let into France.

@SpindleWhorl

What's supposed to be wrong with it??
It's a political point rather than a health one.

That thing the EU haven't been doing, well they are not doing it again!

IdblowJonSnow · 02/07/2021 14:41

I have lost my little card! Does that mean I can never go abroad again?! Shock

Is that what is accepted as proof? Surely they would be easy enough to fake... - obviously I'm not advocating this!

Hope those due to go soon can get sorted - how stressful.

valnevavaxx · 02/07/2021 14:44

@IdblowJonSnow It'll be on the NHS app- nobody is going to be accepting those little cards for travel purposes, as you say they'll be very easy to forge!

France, for example, will accept the NHS app or a letter directly from NHS which you have to call 119 to get a copy of (and you can only do this if you are unable to use the app). Each country will have it's own requirements I should think.

valnevavaxx · 02/07/2021 14:44

Oh or you can prove it on the NHS website- you log on in the same way as you do on the app.

Nobody is going to accept them for travel @gillysSong so not sure what the point of having a fake one is?

RainbowANDThunder · 02/07/2021 14:53

www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/france/entry-requirements

Its an Amber country! And there are requirements to enter and reasons you can go

RainbowANDThunder · 02/07/2021 14:54

@gillysSong

You are putting innocent people at risk, hope you are caught and fined!

SpringLoadedJizz · 02/07/2021 15:00
@SpringLoadedJizz ...you can find out your username, have a fossick about the vacs.nhs.scot site and with your name and DOB you will get sorted, that's what i had to do. Slightly complicated for me as I have a double barrelled name and had to have the exact syntax so took a few goes!

However This article says that even if it says Vaxzevria it could still have been Covishield as they are just listing all atrazencas as vaxzevria.
so that's helpful.

There are instruction to be able to find the batch numbers via the NHS app, but guessing that won't work for NHS Scotland. Bugger.
Thanks! I've got it sorted now, not that I think I'll need it any time soon but it's handy just in case so I don't have to faff around later.

Etinox · 02/07/2021 15:00

@Doodlebug71
And advice like yours is exactly why I suggested OP step away from the thread. Her second jab isn’t imminent as you suggest, she’s had it and it’s not on the European list.

How am I putting others at risk, not sure where we'll need the card yet.
Went to a festival gig last night, wasn't asked for anything.
No social distancing or masks as was outside.
If I had have been asked I have the card, plenty people aren't being jabbed, those exempt on medical grounds too.
I'm no more putting people at risk than my son who can't have it on medical grounds. Result the same, both able to catch it, both able to spread it. But somehow you are bad if you choose not to. Herd imminity soon anyway, as it's so effective, lol.

diddl · 02/07/2021 15:05

@ShameCloud

Batches 4120Z001, 4120Z002 or 4120Z003 are the batch numbers of those manufacturered in India and not recognised by some parts or Europe as a Covid vaccine.

Mine is one of these… I’m buggered anyway as I’m not getting a second due to the blood clot risk but this is the fly on the turd!

Is it just AZ that you don't want as a 2nd?

I think it's possible to have a different 2nd & it still be effective.

There's nothing with the efficacy of the Indian vaccine, it's just a admin issue.

I suspect you'll be able to get Pfizer at some point - and definitely as a an autumn booster if you are 50 or older or one of the vulnerable categories. So it won't really matter.

MissChanandlerBong90 · 02/07/2021 15:11

I can't believe the discriminatory attitude that EU is so blatantly displaying. Their action will impact the entire Covax initiative.

They’re actually doing the opposite of discriminating - they’re treating us the same as every other country.

As they were always going to do once we left.

I doubt it no one in Scotland got these cards at all so if you can’t then 5 million Scots can’t either .

It's nothing to do with discrimination, it's just some sort of admin cock-up because the Indian-made vaccine isn't categorised the same as the European-made versions. I didn't realise that, but it's still the same ingredients made to the same recipe and will have the same effect. The fact that so many countries have already said it's ok means it will be.

Also, if you had it, you are likely to be over 50 or in groups 1-6 so will have a booster in the autumn anyway - which I think is Pfizer/Biontech. So you'll have two "approved" vaccines. It's only an issue if you want to go to France tomorrow.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/07/2021 15:32

I’m group 6 - I wish I’d waited until my age group were called now!

Zilla1 · 02/07/2021 15:33

@MissChanandlerBong90, it's like the EU don't know when we want there to be a border and when we don't. Bureaucrats. Who've got it in for us. Fortunately, we had an over-ready deal that had looked at all the issues around borders and GFA and workforce and suchlike. EU amateurs.

This is what I came on to say Grin - of course they won’t be expecting people to show those little bits of card at the airport - as you say they are far too easy to lose and/or fake.

It all sounds like a gigantic pile of bullshit to me!

KnottyKnitting · 02/07/2021 15:43

I have one produced in India and one which isn't! 🙄

Supposed to be going to Portugal in July/ August. However if you read the report it says it's at a countries discretion if they choose to refuse entry. I can't see countries that rely heavily on tourism turning away huge numbers of holiday makers.

Pinkandwhiteblossom · 02/07/2021 16:17

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER

Am I the only one to think that this is very likely the EU being thoroughly awkward, because they were always anti the AZ vaccine anyway?
No it’s not. AZ literally haven’t applied for market authorisation for this in the EU as they weren’t supplying it there.

Tal45 · 02/07/2021 16:21

There are a list of countries that are accepting the Indian one, Spain and Greece were on there but not France I don't think. This is really shit for you OP. The company are in the process of getting it cleared for the EU now this issue has come up I think but hadn't bothered before because it's mostly going to go to poorer countries so didn't need EU clearance. Bloody covid it's one thing after another. I'd book PCR tests to make sure you can go OP.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/07/2021 16:28

@Chrysanthemum5

I'm in Scotland, and when I look at my NHS vaccination record it doesn't have the batch numbers.
It tells you the vaccine. On mine it says vaxveria or whatever its called. Both of mine are the same. No batch numbers.
neveradullmoment99 · 02/07/2021 16:29

Vaxvria

neveradullmoment99 · 02/07/2021 16:30

I logged on to my appointments and found the info there.
