I'll go first. Performance manage based on utter nonsense criteria that I don't really care about but have to pretend to be oh so serious about. Pretend to care about our mission statement and our organisational culture. Yawn. I sit in meetings wondering if anyone else is seriously buying this crap or rather putting on a good act like me. Anyone else?

Oh I’m going to upset a few people here...

Parents who spend most of their child’s progress meeting (parents eve) reminiscing about their own favourite subject, exam results, teachers they remember, teachers/ subjects they disliked...

We’ve only got 5 mins to talk about young Florence/Percy but never you mind... I’d love to know what your favourite subject was in 1987! 🤣

God, my ex would drone on like that. I'd be trying hard to stop it before he started, because I wanted to hear about my DC. I have been known to kick him under the table, even.

I refused to attend this week's because a director kept talks about his prostrate problems.

This has reminded me of a very temporary previous job where the ops director decided to tell me he had a doctors appointment becos he was bleeding from his arse again. He obviously felt very comfortable around me.

Ah, this thread has reminded me why self employment is, in many ways, better than being employed. None of that BS speak for starters. Many years ago I worked in an office, in a tech role, and the only reason the corporate BS was tolerable was because most of my department also thought it was BS. We didn't have to do team building exercises to feel united as we were united in that 😆 I even had this comic strip (Dilbert) up on my desk and no-one batted an eye lid 😁 Overall it was actually a pretty cool place to work.

Can I say dealing with clients? 9 out of 10 members of the general public are you that's and dealing with them is the worst part about my job.
