Matt Hancock affair (3)

Surely you would have cameras in a Government building and surely pointing it at doorways between different areas or departments isn't a bad idea.
It looks like a screenshot of a cctv security camera monitor.

@Permanentlygrumpy

I posted this at the end of the last thread so I'll repeat it here again

I think this is the distraction that pp's were talking about, that hidden cameras were planted in minister's offices. Everybody is salivating over the gory affair details as it's shocking. However, people haven't considered the security implications of hidden cameras in a government office. They're too busy reading the sensationalist headlines.

How many hidden cameras are there? Who is planting them and who is tipping off the press? Some countries like Russia would pay top dollar for footage. I think Hancock's affair was accidentally filmed, the real reason for the camera was to record state state business for an outside agency. Whitehall can't admit a massive security breach like this to the public so Hancock is the fall guy.

Boris is probably behind it. He’ll have been biding his time for the right time. This will have been planned for ages. There’s no way people within his circle, professional and otherwise didn’t know about this.

The biggest mystery of all is what the heck she sees in him.

StormzyinaTCup · 27/06/2021 13:32

Identifying that individual must be a priority.

I wouldn’t think that would take long actually. Assuming CCTV was in the corridors the prime suspect would have to be someone entering MH office carrying a ladder (or maybe a 7ft tall man sans ladder but with a tool bag Smile)

Rosehip10 · 27/06/2021 13:33

For all this chat from people "in the field" the picture of hancocks office shows the CCTV camera clearly in place.

ilovesooty · 27/06/2021 13:46

@EleanorOlephantisjustfine I agree.

I'm wondering if he intimated to the Queen that Hancock was on his way out. I'm sure he's known about this for ages or was even instrumental in setting it up. And of course he's now appointed Javid who is a close connection of his wife's and pretty anti restrictions too.

bollihigh · 27/06/2021 13:49

So from Diane Abbott's and Marina Hyde's nudge nudge wink wink it would seem they are all at rather than doing their day job. Gove really is barrel-scraping though.

sergeilavrov · 27/06/2021 13:49

@rosehip10 The image shown is four years old, and doesn’t appear to be a ministerial office choice at that time. But yes, continue unhampered by things like dates and facts.

I bet the other ministers are alarmed at the idea.

Interesting above that the PM can sanction spay cams

Regulus · 27/06/2021 13:55

Spy cams not Spay cams? Mind you if they'd neutered MH he wouldn't be in his current predicament.

Notonthestairs · 27/06/2021 13:56

Conducting Government business and negotiating contracts via private email accounts is what interests me.

It will scupper any future investigation regarding corruption if they can't access all relevant communications.

TeddingtonTrashbag · 27/06/2021 13:58

Very good article by Sarah Vine. Spot on, not just in politics but in business too
This

They waited until the cctv was wiped according to one paper before showing it to the Sun.

Odisia · 27/06/2021 14:11

I don't always agree with Sarah Vine, but she is far from an 'airhead'.

StormzyinaTCup · 27/06/2021 14:19

Ooh hadn't read that bitheby that's interesting and indicates an element of planning and timing with regard to the leak(s).

Can we expect one or two more leaks as and when we reach CCTV expiry dates I wonder.

sweetmama11 · 27/06/2021 14:22

Just the thought of kissing that idiot makes me feel sick...

newnortherner111 · 27/06/2021 14:25

@sweetmama11 the thought of any woman having sexual relations with Boris Johnson is far worse.

Interesting the thought that the Queen's remark suggests that it may not all have been of a sudden and either Mr Johnson or Mr Hancock knew something was going to be reported.

twilightermummy · 27/06/2021 14:31

MobyDicksTinyCanoe

I often think back to the funeral of that 13 year old boy too. Hancock is an absolute disgrace in all of this.

Unsure33 · 27/06/2021 14:38

@twilightermummy

You do realise in the beginning is was up to the local councils to decide about numbers at funerals as well not just the government . There were different rules between counties . I know as I had to arrange a double covid funeral .

Monsterpage · 27/06/2021 14:38

In March when my Mum was dying in a hospice from cancer we were not supposed to hold her hand, to not touch her and we had to wear PPE. None of us had COVID as we were tested daily.
When I see what that little s**t was up so it makes me cry with frustration.

I think it's a very specific type of woman that's sexually drawn to Boris Johnson. Luckily my origins are far too plebeian to see his allure.

DomPom47 · 27/06/2021 14:42

Wife will continue wearing wedding ring and stay with him. Mistress’ husband will divorce her. Someone from the Tories today said something along lines of Hancock will come back.

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2021 14:42

So someone only downloaded the bits that were of interest and the other bits were wiped ( as they usually are etc)
So that person knew exactly what to do and what to do with the material that was relevant.
I imagine that person also knew they were sneaking about.
I also read today that the ' whistleblower' didn't ask for any money for these images. How true that is I've no idea? So much speculation.
It is true that someone could have used this evidence to blackmail them both , which is a sobering thought too and not one I had thought of myself! That could have had many other ramifications for them. Especially him.
I wonder if anything else might come out ?

Backhills · 27/06/2021 14:45

My wedding ring's not going anywhere without the help of cutting equipment. I always laugh at films when people fling their ring away. I'm wearing mine because it won't come off. Also because I want to, but if I didn't it wouldn't come off overnight.

Winnona · 27/06/2021 14:53

@sergeilavrov thank you. It is so interesting. I wonder what else they might have found out from the bug. More to come maybe. It takes it to a whole new level if someone hacked into the bug.

the80sweregreat · 27/06/2021 14:53

The daily Mail seem almost disappointed that Martha hasn't chucked her wedding ring out the window yet.
It's so odd isn't it? The fact that there was a security breach, Hancock could have been blackmailed over all this , who gave the footage to the Sun etc etc, yet it's ' she still has a ring on ' that they find fascinating.

Blossomtoes · 27/06/2021 14:54

He’s already left his wife, I reckon it will be a cold day in hell before she takes him back. His constituency party is already discussing deselecting him and apparently feeling against him is running very high. I think he’s blown it for good.
