I am alone in my room, scrolling Mumsnet. I just heard a buzz like a notification but I was on my phone and it wasn't mine. Then it happened again very soon after. Couldn't be mine.

Neither of my DC have phones, too young. The older has an ipad, in her room across the hall. It couldn't have been that because it's off - she forgets to charge it.

DH is downstairs, his phone is charging in the kitchen, I walked past it 10 mins ago.

Am I so addicted to my phone that I am hearing notification vibrations?! Or should I be looking for some miscellaneous phone in this room

Are you sure there wasn't a fly about and your brain thought mobile phone because that's what it usually is?

I sometimes hear notifications and there is nothing on my phone.

Turn on your blue tooth and see what phone options come up to connect to

Are you in a terraced house? Sometimes I hear my neighbours phone, I assume they have it on the wooden floor

I know it’s a leap but could your DH have another phone in his drawer or gym bag etc? Any reason to be suspicious of him?

Are you sure it wasn't your husbands phone vibrating on the kitchen counter top? Sometimes on a hard surface it can sound very loud

This. I also think I hear someone yelling mum and all the kids deny it, so probably already there in the madness 😁.

If there's nothing on the Bluetooth you can log on to the broadband hub and see everything that has been connected. I'm not some weird stalker- it's my job

The second buzz happens if you don't look at a message on an iphone - it bings/buzzes again to remind you to look.

I always here them shouting mum or crying when I'm in the shower. Except they're not!

This drove me demented for days. Hearing a phone make a message noise when mine was on silent.

It was the iPad.

I hear my phone ring on occasion when it's not ringing (like I'm adamant it's mine going as its a custom ringtone others wont have) and I do hear the occasional vibrate noise when nothing had come through.

I hear my dog barking at night too when it's not my dog as he sadly passed a few weeks back and i also hear what I assume is my name being called but isn't on occasions.

I think I need a hearing test 🤣🤣🤣

My phone buzzed last night like a message arriving. I happened to have it in my hand and was looking at it and there definitely wasn't a message or anything else happening. I can't figure out what happened.
