I am alone in my room, scrolling Mumsnet. I just heard a buzz like a notification but I was on my phone and it wasn't mine. Then it happened again very soon after. Couldn't be mine.

Neither of my DC have phones, too young. The older has an ipad, in her room across the hall. It couldn't have been that because it's off - she forgets to charge it.

DH is downstairs, his phone is charging in the kitchen, I walked past it 10 mins ago.

Am I so addicted to my phone that I am hearing notification vibrations?! Or should I be looking for some miscellaneous phone in this room

Do the kids play Pokémon go on the iPad? It can vibrate/buzz when there’s a pokemon about. Least it does on the phone version.

Could it be a bird mimicking a phone? A few years ago,there was a starling in my area that would imitate car alarms. Sounded very convincing!

When my daughters phone is on a wooden surface I can hear the vibration from it in another room. If your dhs phone is on a worktop it might be his?

My husbands Fitbit gets notifications if he gets a text, so if he leave it charging I'll hear it vibrate like a phone?

My fitness watch buzzes like a phone if i don't move for a certain time. It buzzes a lot because I can't be bothered to wear it. Its in my desk

I had this turned out to be my kindle running out of charge, another time it was my fitbit.

If it was a secret phone I’d be very surprised if your DH left it on in your bedroom so for that reason alone I’d not worry too much. Just keep an ear out incase it does happen again.

My first thought was secret phone. Check in your DH's shoes!

Are there small people in your house? There used to be a series on CBeebies that had something very similar to my ringtone/message tone as part of it's theme tune. Drove me nuts. Yes, I changed my ringtone, but it still triggered a response every single time and drove me nuts. Would have banned the program but was one of those ubiquitous favourite ones. Can't remember which.

I sometimes here my upstairs neighbours phone vibrate if left on their floor (wood floors.) At least I assume that's what it is!! I usually keep my phone in my back pocket and will often feel a phantom vibration if it's not there.

I had that once, DH told me I was paranoid and hearing things.

OP, sometimes my phone makes notification noises (regularly actually) and I go to check it and can't for the life of me work out what it was beeping at me for - no message, no Whatsapp, no email came through and no app updates as far as I can see. I live alone, one phone, and this happens when my laptop is off so definitely coming from my phone. Could it just be a thing your phone is doing too (perhaps a new update on it changed it?). I hope it's just something like this!
