Do the sausage rolls need cooking? If they do it's fine to cook them now if you are planning on serving them cold later.

Why on earth would you cook chicken nuggets several hours before they are needed? They are a cook once thing so just cook them when you need them?

Bumblenums1234 · 26/06/2021 08:07

I would have already started, they are absolutely fine for a few hours. Plus you want them cold before the kids arrive.

How does he think it works when you buy the precooked ones from the supermarket?

EmeraldShamrock · 26/06/2021 08:08

An half hour before serving, while the DC are playing.

NotTheCatsWhiskers · 26/06/2021 08:09

You are going to put them in the fridge after right?

Personally I wouldn’t cook them yet as you’ve got over 3 hours until the party.

Cold chicken nuggets? Confused
NautaOcts · 26/06/2021 08:10

Depends if you want them hot or cold doesn’t it….

Would be ok to cook now and cool/put in fridge til needed if you want them cold

But you shouldn’t reheat or keep them warm

LIZS · 26/06/2021 08:12

11:15 and cover in foil once cooked

Nuggetnugget · 26/06/2021 08:15

I bought a food warmer exactly for this reason.
But I would stick them on at 11.20 and keep on very low in the oven.
I cant imagine cold nuggets cooked at 9 in the morning GrinGrin

covidcloser · 26/06/2021 08:17

When are they eating? Put them on in time for that.

inappropriateraspberry · 26/06/2021 08:18

Don't cover them in foil - they'll go soft and soggy! How long do they take to cook? 20-30mins? If so, I'd put them in around 10:45/11 so they have time to cool down but not be stone cold.
But do you plan on them being eaten straight away salt the beginning, or is lunch later?

ProfessorInkling · 26/06/2021 08:19

Have you started your Christmas veg yet?

ChipsAndKetchup · 26/06/2021 08:19

Who eats cold nuggets?! Confused

supernooodle · 26/06/2021 08:20

Cold chicken nuggets are fine..... if it's a cold Buffett then of course the nuggets will be cold.

JellyTumble · 26/06/2021 08:20

Nobody wants cold chicken nuggets.

Just cook them half an hour before the party Confused

20viona · 26/06/2021 08:24

Cold nuggets are fine. I'd do it all now.

Everyone?!

This is so weird. Cold nuggets are completely normal

WaitroseAldi · 26/06/2021 08:26

Surely you have cold chicken nuggets lol? Isn’t that a thing? British tapas and all that lol

AlwaysLatte · 26/06/2021 08:27

Any hot food for kids parties would go on half hour before serving.
Hot dogs were always a hit.

inappropriateraspberry · 26/06/2021 08:28

Call them chicken goujons and no one will be upset if they're cold!

Cold chicken nuggets 🤢

No no. Do people really serve/eat that?

If the party is 11:45 they are having food at what? 12:30? Just put the oven on at 12ish and throw the food in at around 12:10

inappropriateraspberry · 26/06/2021 08:28

Plus, I'm assuming it's a children's party? They don't care if it's cold!

No, cold nuggets are not a thing. I think you’ll have a lot of unhappy children if you serve them cold chicken nuggets.

They’re not hard to do and they don’t take long, why wouldn’t you serve them hot? Confused

AlwaysLatte · 26/06/2021 08:30

Oh I see you were thinking of serving them cold. Why though? So much nicer hot!
