Inspired by the recent thread about places with a strange vibe - which places have you been with a good vibe?

Some I can think of:

Bognor Regis and the surrounding area, in fact much of West Sussex

Frome

Warminster and the nearby villages

South London

Scotland West Coast and North Coast

New York City - love its energy

Southampton

Cairns area of Australia

Florence

North Norfolk Coast

Lulworth Cove

Don't really agree with you about some parts of South London, tho!

Camomila · 18/06/2021 21:14

I agree with you :) I'm from Brighton which has a lovely vibe, as does West Sussex, but much East Sussex has an eerie vibe to me! (exceptions being Paradise Park in Newhaven and Seven Sisters)

Blanca87 · 18/06/2021 21:20

Luca, Bath, Blackburn and Melbourne.

Blanca87 · 18/06/2021 21:21

Damascus and Aleppo, too.

purrswhileheeats · 18/06/2021 21:28

@Blanca87

Damascus and Aleppo, too.
Been to both, wasn't so keen on the latter Shock
Ozanj · 18/06/2021 21:31

St Ives, Cornwall. There’s something just so fun and welcoming there.
Matapaolo Costa Rica - it’s been years since I went, so it probably isn’t a sleepy little town any more.

ZednotZee · 18/06/2021 21:34

Liverpool. Its just a beautiful city and the people are so lovely.

Samur, so picturesque.

Vegas.

ZednotZee · 18/06/2021 21:35

Oh and Glasgow. Like Liverpool but less attractive.

CosmicComfort · 18/06/2021 21:37

I am loving the positive vibes for Bognor Regis, it’s not often referenced in positive terms🤣🤣
I like Bognor but mostly as a visitor, not sure I could live there!

For good vibes, Whitby, Isle of Wight, Lymington, Lake District, Bristol. Mostly holiday destinations for us.

I felt really inspired by Crosby Beach; the Anthony Gormley Sculptures and also loved the single sculpture on Margate beach.

Love Southend too, just feel drawn to the place. Husband hates it🤣🤣

MiloAndEddie · 18/06/2021 21:37

Cuba and Edinburgh

Haudyourwheesht · 18/06/2021 21:38

I felt a real spirituality (that I didn't feel anywhere else in the city) at the temple of the reclining Buddha in Bangkok.

There's a place called the Garden of Dreams in Kathmandu that is so lovely and relaxing, and such a break from the frenetic city. I just loved it.

Peppapigforlife · 18/06/2021 21:39

Ghent in Belgium.

El Clot in Barcelona, especially in the evening

Northern California

Some parts of Canterbury, England

Edinburgh city centre.

I don't really like anywhere else in the UK

Turkey

Tulum, Mexico

Youseethethingis · 18/06/2021 21:40

Budapest. Fabulous city. I've been twice and I'd love to go again and again.

VioletCharlotte · 18/06/2021 21:40

Most of the places I think have a good vibe were listed on the bad vibe thread!

Edinburgh
Glastonbury
Brighton
Ross-on-Wye
Christchurch
St Ives

feliciabirthgiver · 18/06/2021 21:42

Just popped on to share some love for West Sussex (also very partial to The New Forest)

Francescaisstressed · 18/06/2021 21:44

Im the UK love Edinburgh, Liverpool Bath and pretty much anywhere in Wales

FizzyPink · 18/06/2021 21:46

Copenhagen - everyone was just so friendly and welcoming
Dublin - I loved the whole vibe and the live music in every pub we went into
Sunshine/Gold Coast of Australia - maybe I was heavily influenced by the weather but I’ve never felt happier than I did while travelling there

Longdistance · 18/06/2021 21:52

Blakeney in Norfolk. I sat down in the sun on a bench, closed my eyes and there was complete peace and quiet.
Antigua. Same again. Very relaxed, at peace feeling.

TheDogsMother · 18/06/2021 21:53

I live in West Sussex and love getting out and about in the county I've had a few victories at the Bognor Regis crazy golf too.

Good vibes also in Palma and Port Soller in Majorca. Lots of London. Nice. Thorpeness in Suffolk. Actually so many.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 18/06/2021 21:55

West Sussex is lovely and some bits of it are much maligned and unjustifiably I think.

movingadviceneeded · 18/06/2021 21:56

West Sussex absolutely.
Liverpool & Edinburgh had some of the nicest friendliest people I've ever met. First time in L'pool my taxi driver from Lime st took me on a little city tour and then refused to take payment.
Also agree re Warminster. Weirdly parents live in West Sussex and a Warminster village!
My particular part of SW London too.

oohmyback · 18/06/2021 21:56

Iceland, been 4 times but still can't get enough of it!

I get what you mean about East Sussex OP. Has a weird vibe to me too! I feel the sane about the Lake District though I'm sure many would disagree. My view may be marred by the geography field trips of my uni days!

Love new forest too as PP mentioned.

Babymamamama · 18/06/2021 22:01

Saint Lucia
St Ives
Siena
Greek islands
Taormina Sicily
