Inspired by the recent thread about places with a strange vibe - which places have you been with a good vibe?

Some I can think of:

Bognor Regis and the surrounding area, in fact much of West Sussex

Frome

Warminster and the nearby villages

South London

Scotland West Coast and North Coast

New York City - love its energy

Southampton

For Norfolk, I'll add Old Hunstanton. Lovely beach, good hotel and pub, plus a really good antiques and art centre to poke about in if it's rainy.
Overseas, Rome, and the islands of Sicily and Santorini.
I would have said Barcelona, but in my last visit Las Ramblas had really gone off.

Most National Trust places, my favourite so far is St Michael's Mount, lovely place but the volunteers made the experience, they were so knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely love the place.

It's a weird one because of its history but Vichy in central France has one of the most distinctively lovely atmospheres I've ever felt. I think it's because of the underground springs and water. It feels fresh and healthy and healing. Genuinely healing. I've had a similar feeling in other places famous famous for its springs but not on that level.

SIHastingsLiketheBattle · 18/06/2021 22:43
