GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 14/06/2021 21:52

Too hot to do it earlier.

GreyhoundG1rl · 14/06/2021 21:52

It's too late. Rude.

Allington · 14/06/2021 21:53

I assume this is tongue in cheek following all the complaints about neighbours mowing too early, bbqing too often etc...?

KindleAndCake · 14/06/2021 21:53

Not where we live, it's been dry but windy all day, so cool.

Not tongue in cheek at all, I've got kids trying to sleep. Now he's noisily mowing his lawn.

For me personally the limit is 10pm so I'd be fine with this. Also, if it's a one off then I would have no problem.

MissCruellaDeVil · 14/06/2021 21:55

Some people are ridiculous, perhaps he's been at work all day?

FangsForTheMemory · 14/06/2021 21:55

dial 111

shouldistop · 14/06/2021 21:55

I think as long as he's finished by about 10 then it's fine. My dc go to bed around 7, I don't expect there to be silence from my neighbours after that be

Karmabites2591 · 14/06/2021 21:56

Are you my neighbour ? 😫 my dp is out there at them moment haha couldn’t do it earlier because we were dismantling things and seen as it’s down he went out there to do it quickly

CharlieChickenson · 14/06/2021 21:57

@FangsForTheMemory what's the NHS gonna do? Give hayfever advice? Grin

ImFree2doasiwant · 14/06/2021 21:57

I really couldn't get excited about this.

sixthtimelucky · 14/06/2021 21:57

Fuck 111 - call 999 NOW!

TokyoSushi · 14/06/2021 21:58

I think because of the light people lose all sense of what time it is!

vodkaredbullgirl · 14/06/2021 21:58

Is he carrying a light, so he can see what he is doing.

MondeoFan · 14/06/2021 21:59

This wouldn't upset me tbh

stackemhigh · 14/06/2021 22:00

My DH cut the grass at 8.55pm the other night, I thought that was bad!

fashionablefennel · 14/06/2021 22:00

What a twat. Can't people have a bit of peace and quiet in the evening?

It's not even about the children, it's about not being an antisocial nuisance.

shouldistop · 14/06/2021 22:00

@vodkaredbullgirl still light in Scotland..

ClarisseMcClellan · 14/06/2021 22:02

It's still light where I am so I wouldn't think anything of it tbh

JustMarriedBecca · 14/06/2021 22:03

Wouldn't bother me. I work until 6pm, eat, kids to bed and then only get to do actual things after 8.30pm. Children should be used to noise - a lawnmower is no different to the morning chorus. Is very English - bird song, lawns being mowed, the thwack of a cricket ball.

Piers Morgan would be outraged and rightly so (I saw today his column compared the extension of Freedom Day to World War II. FFS Piers...get a grip).

fashionablefennel · 14/06/2021 22:03

what time is there actually light in the morning at the moment? 4am ish?

So as long as there's daylight, you are fine to mow the grass? Grin

WorraLiberty · 14/06/2021 22:04

I used to love the hum of a lawnmower when I was in bed as a child.

It's something kids tend to get used to from an early age. Mostly because they'll be in bed any time from 7pm onwards depending on their age.

Toomuchspinning · 14/06/2021 22:04

Fine by me….

shouldistop · 14/06/2021 22:05

@fashionablefennel well no, because most adults are sleeping at 4am and most are still awake at 9.45pm. Surely you can see the difference? Councils usually have times for noise like this and they're usually 8am-11pm or something like that.
