Go & fire up the BBQ, stick some music on & make it a party

John69 · 14/06/2021 23:23

Yes I think you should definitely call 111 because they will arrest the guy and imprison him at the hospital

RampantIvy · 14/06/2021 23:26

But can he really see much at that time?!

The difference in daylight hours between say London and Newcastle is significant at this time of year. We would need to know where the OP lives, but I could see to cut grass at 9.45 on a clear evening right now here in Yorkshire.

precisely how do you think the out of hours doctor is going to be able to help?
SaltySkulls · 14/06/2021 23:33

@spanner66

Emergency mental health?

LemonSwan · 14/06/2021 23:37

To be fair unless you want a brown lawn you have no choice but to cut late atm. Better than at dinner time when you might be outdoors eating.

Topseyt · 14/06/2021 23:42

Wouldn't bother me.vin fact, I doubt I would even notice.

Call the police though. Log it with 101. There are so many oddbods with lawnmowers around. You really can't be too careful.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 14/06/2021 23:49

It's summer, it's light and it'll all be over and done with within 15 mins unless they have massive lawn. There are nastier noises to listen too than the hum of mower.

spanner66 · 14/06/2021 23:51

It wouldn’t bother me.

TableFlowerss · 14/06/2021 23:55

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat

Too hot to do it earlier.
Hmm
TableFlowerss · 14/06/2021 23:58

Selfish - no need whatsoever!
You can tell the people on here with older kids, kids that would sleep through anything.

Mowing your lawn makes a racket but totally dayr enough up until about 7.30/8 latest.

TableFlowerss · 14/06/2021 23:59

Or the ones that haven’t got kids!

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 15/06/2021 00:11

I mowed my grass on Christmas Eve once Grin

That’s not my problem your kids won’t sleep through anything . Same as it’s not your problem that I work night shift and get woken by people mowing lawns. It’s perfectly acceptable to make nose outside between 7am and 11pm .
Boomisshiss · 15/06/2021 00:18

*noise

TulipsTwoLips · 15/06/2021 00:18

I wouldn't be annoyed by someone doing it, maybe a little confused!

Most people wouldn’t love to woken up at 7am on a Sunday morning by the next door neighbours lawn mower!!

TableFlowerss · 15/06/2021 00:33

(Or kids laughing and signing outside - as lovely as it is to hear, 7am is a bit much)

earthyfire · 15/06/2021 01:05

Wouldn't bother me, prefer that to 8am on a Sunday.

I don’t see a problem with that... My DH once locked himself in the bathroom for about an hour one Christmas Eve, came out and told me that he wanted to give me my Christmas gift early, and triumphantly pulled down his boxers to reveal a fresh shave. It was very smooth. Although admittedly it did not cause any annoyance to the neighbours. No seriously though,. that is even less of a reason to get annoyed at lawnmower noise because surely everyone’s windows are closed in December!

@TurquoiseDress

What a cock

mowing the lawn at 9.45pm is bloody ridiculous

No it isn't.
Blue4YOU · 15/06/2021 01:24

Jesus Christ- are people supposed to worry about someone who might be awake, or asleep, or have trouble falling asleep, or waking up, or coming off shifts, or getting up for shifts, or possibly offending people by… existing.
WE ARE SUPPOSED TO LIVE IN SILENCE, UNDER PERMANENT LOCKDOWN until people don’t need to “enjoy their gardens” with no sounds for 500 miles.

Oh, it wasn’t me mowing the lawn, but I’m sure some people could get upset with my daughter being up most of the night or me digging up a hideous bush…. Past 7 at night 😱.

Now - where’s the nearest cloister so I can go off to commune in my perfect self

HelgaDownUnder · 15/06/2021 01:42

That sounds crazy.

Is it an electric or petrol mower.

An electric lawn mower would not be as bad as petrol, still annoying though.

Are you for real? Calling the police for a man cutting his grass at 21.45pm when it's a 11pm cut off noise disturbance? The police have enough to do
