I very much doubt he has a deep self confidence. If he did, he wouldn't behave the way he does. He is clearly a very unhappy and disturbed individual and probably at least one of a narcissist, psychopath or sociopath. I don't understand why so many people confuse this kind of dominant, controlling and manipulative behaviour with confidence and self assuredness. People who are happy in themselves simply don't behave in these kind of ways.

Sorry to be blunt, OP, but as humans we really need to get much better at spotting the ones who are so damaged that they are dangerous and not giving them any power or responsibility.
