To hate buying toilet paper

I find it embarrassing, especially if it’s the only thing I buy (not so bad as part of the weekly shop). I ran into a work colleague earlier coming out of the shop holding nothing but a big pack of toilet roll. I‘m always scared that the person on the till/anyone who sees me will be assuming that I’m going straight home to do a massive poo.
I know it’s silly because obviously everyone buys it but I normally make my husband buy it.
Anyone else have this worry?

Absolutely not. Everyone uses loo paper. Even the queen. You are weird.

speakout · 25/04/2021 17:30

No.
Do you suffer anxiety?

JackieTheFart · 25/04/2021 17:31

No. Literally no one cares but you. Every single person on the planet poos and pees.

Bunbunbunny · 25/04/2021 17:32

Get a bidet spray no need for it or have it delivered from Amazon in bulk

FadedRed · 25/04/2021 17:32

No. Every body shits, most people use loo roll.

Babyboomtastic · 25/04/2021 17:32

Unless you are buying a 24 pack and a box of immodium at the same time, I really don't think they'd even notice.and if that was your ship, then they'd probably just try to serve you quickly ;-)

I've sent my husband for a shop consisting of ibuprofen, chocolate and tampons before, could be worse...

Hellocatshome · 25/04/2021 17:33

No. Do you worry about any other similar things or just this?

FourEyesGood · 25/04/2021 17:33

No. I’d judge you far more if I knew you NEVER bought/used toilet paper...

Persipan · 25/04/2021 17:33

I guarantee you that nobody is paying attention to the fact that you're buying toilet paper. But if it worries you that much, order online or sign up to a toilet paper subscription, and then you don't have to physically go and buy it anymore.

Councilworker · 25/04/2021 17:33

I used to get those thoughts too. "oh god X person knows I do poos". Except I knew it made no sense as when I worked on a checkout I literally didn't give it a second thought (the only time I mentally raised eyebrows was a man buying lots of fruit and veg plus condoms and baby oil) and just scanned it. Now I just get it delivered by the boxful and completely ignore the whole aisle in the supermarket

iforgotyourenotbono · 25/04/2021 17:34

No - this is weird. No one cares

DungeonKeeper · 25/04/2021 17:35

No that’s just a bit weird. Everyone buys loo paper.

Bluntness100 · 25/04/2021 17:36

Um no, no one thinks you’re going home for a massive shit

Is this real? Is there a back story?

BurbageBrook · 25/04/2021 17:36

No OP that is really daft.

LeopardSheet · 25/04/2021 17:38

No I don’t have anxiety and I know it’s a bit irrational/the person on the checkout doesn’t really care I’m just a bit paranoid. It doesn’t massively affect my life and I still buy it it just crosses my mind that it’s a bit embarrassing and was wondering if it’s just me.
I remember buying nothing but steak and condoms on Valentine’s Day once which was also a bit embarrassing but otherwise I’m fine with buying tampons and other things

Onesnowynight · 25/04/2021 17:38

Nope never

Mamamamasaurus · 25/04/2021 17:38

Nope

Are you usually quite anxious?

Meowchickameowmeow · 25/04/2021 17:39

You're scared that people know you poo? Newsflash, everyone already knows that everyone else has to shit, it's the most basic bodily function that every living thing on the planet has in common.
Literally, no one cares that you're buying toilet roll.

NavigatingAdolescence · 25/04/2021 17:39

We get a massive box from Who Gives A Crap every 3 months. They’re even gift wrapped. :)

Bluntness100 · 25/04/2021 17:39

It sounds like anxiety to me. We all buy loo roll.

Koyto · 25/04/2021 17:40

Me OP!
If we ran out at a place I once worked, I had to buy a trolley full of it, I found it embarrassing Grin The odd one I can now cope with after that 😂

LoveFall · 25/04/2021 17:40

I think you need to relax and come to terms with the fact that we all have to use toilet paper. And why would anyone care if you were going home and planning to use it?

Sorry, OP but your thinking on this is one of the reasons people with Crohn's and colitis feel housebound for fear of using a public loo and people judging them because they had to rush in and made some noise.

In the nicest possible way, please change your attitude.

CathbadtheDruid · 25/04/2021 17:42

The only time I felt embarrassed buying loo roll was when everyone was panic buying it and I was worried that people would think I was a bog roll stockpiler.

RogerBannister · 25/04/2021 17:42

Just use a rag on a stick and then nobody will ever see you buying bog roll ever again. Problem solved.

diamondpony80 · 25/04/2021 17:42

No worries here. I rarely even put toilet paper in a shopping bag as it takes up too much space so I usually carry it. Never occurred to me that it could be embarrassing.
