I am absolutely sickened by this. I honestly despair at the world now - I know that there have always been awful people but please tell me I am not alone in feeling like we are being overrun by absolute vile creatures who get away without consequences for anything and that it is just getting worse

Beating a man into a coma and they get released on bail? Honestly have had enough, the world is just awful

Horrible vile people in the world.
I do despair.

Susannahmoody · 08/04/2021 16:42

Yup, absolutely dispicable.

Who are the parents of these kids who bully an 11 year old then beat up the dad? Not sure what the world's coming to

Lockheart · 08/04/2021 16:43

They haven't got away without consequence. Released on bail does not mean "let off". Evidence has to be gathered and they will go to court. That process does not happen overnight. This happened less than a week ago. Did you expect them to be tried, convicted, and sentenced in the space of 5 days?

Less outrage, more critical thinking.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 16:50

Hope the title fuckers get done with attempted murder. Disgusting!

That's literally what they've been charged with. Did you read the article?

Well said.

Rather wasting your breath I fear though. If there's one thing Mumsnet loves, it's a 500 post outraged pile-on thread full of torches and pitchforks.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 16:57

@Lockheart are you just here to nit pick at what everyone says?

Also OP didn't say they "got away without consequence" they said "they have been let out on bail" or did you not read the OP?

Should people show them sympathy?Confused

I wasn't aware knowing the facts of the case was nitpicking.

And I think you need to read the OP: we are being overrun by absolute vile creatures who get away without consequences

But again, I come back to a) read things properly and b) less outrage, more critical thinking. Quod erat demonstandum...

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 17:02

God lockheart really, you don't need to go through everything everyone says with a fine tooth cobm and point out every little mistake they make, it's tedious.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 17:04

*comb, before you pick up on that aswell.

I didn't. I picked out the glaring errors.
XDownwiththissortofthingX · 08/04/2021 17:08

Of course, there's absolutely no need for the assertions that the end of western civilisation is upon us on order to do that though.

Back when I was a teen newspaper columns were constantly full of older people complaining that my generation were nothing better than a bunch of glue-addled thugs, with a predilection for knifing folk, no respect for anything or anyone, and that if the nation was dependent on us to be the grown-ups of tomorrow then we were all doomed.

This 'it's getting worse' thing isn't borne out by fact. Crime, especially violent crime, is falling consistently year on year, and so far my generation don't appear to have ruined society in the way that was being predicted a few decades back.

It's something that is levied at every generation, and there's no truth to it whatsoever.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 17:09

Ok. You can climb down off your soap box now. Why come on to a thread just to point out errors? Are you very bored?

Not particularly. Don't you think facts are pertinent to the thread?

You think People should show those teenagers sympathy? They might have killed a man because he stuck up for his child. No one has said all teenagers are like this, People are just appalled that something like that has happened. Weird take on it.
Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 17:20

Lockheart what facts? Just because they have been charged with attempted murder doesn't mean they will be found guilty of attempted murder. Which is what I ment by "get done with attempted murder" but you had to pounce to try and prove some point Confused.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 17:21

It's your uppity tone in your posts that you should work on though.

One of the OPs main assertions was that they'd got away without consequence, which is entirely false.

You said they should be "done for" attempted murder, which is what they have been charged with. As "done for" is not a legal term, you'll forgive me if there was some confusion over whether you meant "charged with", "tried for", or "convicted of".

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 17:35

Oh god do forgive me for not using the correct legal terms that they use in a court room.
Well perhaps next time you should check what someone means if you don't understand the term they have used or, what they mean by it, instead of jumping down their throat with your "superior knowlege". I didn't realise we had to be so formal on here at all times. Perhaps I should go and train in law, and only ever use the correct terminology if I want to have an opinion on any crimes that are committed in the world.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 17:36

Oh and I can guarantee the little shits aren't given a sentence that reflects the disgusting crime they have committed, as is typical in this country.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 08/04/2021 17:46

And honestly, the "critical thinking" phrase is used on here far too often when someone wants to feel superior. Please find another phrase, it's been done to death.

thebillyotea · 08/04/2021 17:47

Despite the pathetic attempts to derail the thread, YANBU at all OP.

You know already that the sentence, if ever there is one, will be an insult to the victim and the family.
