We don't have a big Morrisons next to us, so until yesterday I lived in a naive believe that all donuts are equal! How wrong was I! My eldest daughter dropped by to say hello from a safe distance yesterday and brought those magical morsels of pure donut heaven to share with us. I am not ashamed to let you all know that I ate 2 immediately! Now my world has changed, I'm seeing everything in a new light, and with this revelation I am wondering what other wonderful things I'm missing unknowingly ...

You're both wrong.
If you're in Hertfordshire, go to Simmons. Job done.
If you're not in Herts, (and if you live in Herts) go to your local Polish shop I'm the morning and get a delicious doughnut as big as your face for around 70p.
You won't regret it. Either choice.

DD spent all of last year after her A levels ere abandoned working in Morrison’s.
Her best job was being donut girl.
6am to 12.00 cooking, filling and wrapping donuts.
She used to bring home her specials. Usually double filled jam, but occasionally jam and custard, or apple and custard

Morrisons, lidl in singles from the bakery section, or Tesco berliner doughtnuts. Krispy Kreme are acceptable if somebody else is buying but they're wildly overpriced.
Everywhere else I've tried is just crusty, dry and sad. I'm pretty sure Sainsburys use granulated suger on the outside of theirs when it should be powdered.
This is jam doughnuts though. Ring doughnuts are just jam doughnuts without the good bits.
