Sharing bath water

I remember we all used to use the same bath water one after another (parents too) when I was a kid but the thought of doing that now makes me cringe. Does anyone go in the same bath water after another family member?

^ OP has made it clear it's a non issue for HER kids in HER home. Bore off with your bleating 😴

BabyBee93 · 25/03/2021 07:42

*PP, not OP

NewAgeWiccan · 25/03/2021 07:57

I do with my husband - I always go first but he didn't bothered. I think it's ok with partners but it would be weird with anyone else.

@Bluntness100

People today are really spoiled. How do you think we managed with bathing once a week?Or the days when it was a tin bath in front of the fire? You definitely only wanted to fill that up once!

Well eh yeah, but humanity has evolved, we no longer send kids down the chimneys either. No ones hankering after “the good ole days” of washing weekly. It’s not spoiled. It’s called the 21 century.😂

Children went up chimneys and down the mines Grin

I know we've evolved and believe me, I have no desire to go back to those days (underwear changed twice a week if you were lucky), but all this Ewww over sharing hot bath water with someone who bathes daily and changes their clothes every day is just a tiny bit precious.

Nanny0gg · 25/03/2021 09:43

Oh, and 'humanity' hasn't evolved. Just those fortunate enough to live in a first world country.

*Yes because she is 9 and needs to have her privacy”

I think a lot of us are just naturally concerned about the girl here, but the poster is saying it’s her personal choice and she offers her her own bath.

It’s very unusual for a girl of this age to be wishing to get naked and in the bath with her seven year old brother, most desire, and all are entitled to body privacy. I’m guessing it’s not something she tells her friends about. But if she’s proactively choosing this when the other options are being made clear then it’s no one else’s business. The issue would only arise if this girl felt this was expected of her. Then it would be a significant issue, it seems that’s not the case. So, 🤷‍♀️

No you’re not! You know exactly what you are trying to say and it is not coming from a place of care.
@Fembot123, really? So nothing in the first paragraph of my above post is true? If you believe that, you have issues.
Yes really, way OTT

@KingdomScrolls

All those hysterical about children bathing together and shock horror an eight year old seeing his mother naked prepare to be revolted, last time I was at my parents' and my mum was in the bath I took her a cup of tea, I'm 36. Yes I saw her naked, she birthed me and breastfed me, her body literally gave me life. I don't care it hasn't traumatised me.
Just no

Have to agree and we shouldn't take it for granted especially with climate change. The people sharing are your families
TheKeatingFive · 25/03/2021 15:04

Just no

What’s wrong with that?

Jeez the Brits are very uptight about nudity.

littlepattilou · 25/03/2021 15:05

😵🤢🤢🤮🤮

VILE!

Probably use the same (bath) water to make tea and coffee, and to boil the vegetables in. BOAK

I’m fine with nudity but some people on this thread have some warped views

Fembot123 · 25/03/2021 16:36

Why not @woodhill?

Norwaydidnthappen · 25/03/2021 16:51

My DC share bath water. They used to share a bath but they’re a bit too grown up for that now, still share the water. Not a cost thing, more a planet saving thing.

woodhill · 25/03/2021 17:29

It would make me feel very uncomfortable.
