Animals are not only sentient beings, but most are intelligent in some cases highly so.

Shouldn't we stop using phrases such as 'horseface', referring to people we consider ugly as 'dogs' and as this council leader called a Senedd member, a 'cow'.

Seriously get a grip. You are being ridiculous.

FakingMemories · 06/03/2021 18:43

If that’s your biggest concern right now, well done.

Justajot · 06/03/2021 18:44

Ha ha ha. The animals don't understand so aren't insulted. Being insulted on behalf of animals is rather wet.

OlympicProcrastinator · 06/03/2021 18:45

Grin good one.

RaininSummer · 06/03/2021 18:45

Intelligent as animals are, I don't think even if they heard these insults, they would understand or, alternatively, they may also think someone looks horse faced but are too polite to say.

lidoshuffle · 06/03/2021 18:47

You want to hear what they call us.

arethereanyleftatall · 06/03/2021 18:48

Can I just clarify what you're saying?

We should stop using animal words to insult, because it upsets the animals?

Is that what you're saying?

Winterfellismyhome · 06/03/2021 18:50

The animals are now cancelling people who use animal names as insults. Peak 2021 Hmm

LAgeDeRaisin · 06/03/2021 18:50

Thank goodness there isn't a crisis in Yemen or a global pandemic to worry about instead.

ViciousJackdaw · 06/03/2021 18:50

What words should we use to insult people then?

MagnoliaBeige · 06/03/2021 18:51

@lidoshuffle

You want to hear what they call us.
Shock
FOJN · 06/03/2021 18:52

How have you managed to overlook the misogyny and make the issue about using animal names as insults?

MysweetAudrina · 06/03/2021 18:54

I think the problem is feeling the need to insult someone. The whole point of an insult is to make someone feel or look lesser. I remember we used to have a childish retort for when some one called us a bitch when we were kids - a bitch is a dog, a dog Is nature, nature is beautiful so thanks for the compliment. If called a pig we used to say that stood for pretty Irish girl. We obviously got called a lot of names when we were young.

UhtredRagnarson · 06/03/2021 18:55

But can I still use human insults to insult my cat? Otherwise he get above himself.

MasterBeth · 06/03/2021 18:56

You’re cuckoo.

partyatthepalace · 06/03/2021 18:56

Good luck with this one.

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 06/03/2021 18:57

What I don't like is saying that people are behaving like animals, when animals really don't behave like that. If only we were more like animals....

toomanyplants · 06/03/2021 19:01

We've hit peak batshit.

PattyPan · 06/03/2021 19:08

I kind of agree now I think about it. Like calling someone a cow, there’s nothing wrong with cows so it doesn’t make much sense as an insult Confused

trappedsincesundaymorn · 06/03/2021 19:08

I got told I was as mad as a March hare today.....luckily there were no hares around to hear it, they would have been fewmin .

SchrodingersImmigrant · 06/03/2021 19:15

Can't use genitals, can't use animals... Organs then? There is a thing in my native language when we call people "an appendix (the intestine)" when they are clumsy and mess things up.

Maybe we could go with bladder and others?
"You are as annoying as infected bladder!" "Ugh. She/he is just such a spleen. I caould totally live without her". "God. You are as useful as appendix🙄". "You are as smart as an earlobe fgs"

Yeah. That could work

spookycookies · 06/03/2021 19:17

Just leaving this here for your enjoyment

ViciousJackdaw · 06/03/2021 19:17

'Ooh that Carol on reception, she's got a face like a left ventricle!'

Donkeydonut · 06/03/2021 19:18

I have noticed recently that a few posters describe vegans/vegetarians as ‘bleating’, ‘whinging’, when I AS them they were sheep farmers or just generally unpleasant.

I am not either but actually I kind of agree with the op.

NeverDropYourMoonCup · 06/03/2021 19:20

As it isn't actually calling somebody an animal, can we still call somebody with ridiculous ideas about animals being offended by human words they don't understand (although 'Fuck's sake, cat, get out from under my feet, you wee furry shite' seems to be comprehended quite well) 'batshit'?
